September is almost in the books, and we’re wrapping up Attendance Awareness Month with a little school spirit!

On Friday, October 2, we’re celebrating Stay in the Game Day! We’re asking students and staff to wear your Stay in the Game shirt or your favorite sports team shirt as we celebrate the importance of showing up and staying in the game — for our students, our schools and one another.

Attendance matters. When students are here, they’re learning, connecting with classmates, building relationships with their teachers and making the most of the opportunities available to them.

Sycamore Creek is planning a Veteran’s Day celebration! Activities will include music provided by our second grade students, readings by fourth grade students, and a photo slideshow to honor all former and active military families affiliated with Sycamore Creek Elementary.

The celebration will be Wednesday, November 11. The assembly will be open to all Sycamore Creek families, but priority seating will be reserved for Veterans and their families. More information will be sent home in the next few weeks.

We need your help! We are asking families if you have an active or military veteran in your family that you would like honored, please send us some photos! If you sent us photos last year, you do not need to send them again. All photos that were part of the slideshow, with the exception of last year’s fourth grade students, will remain in the slideshow unless you request they be removed or updated.

Hello and welcome back to school, SCE Families! This school year we want to recognize and bring awareness to as many holidays and celebrations our SCE community is connected to. We plan to share them through morning announcements, 3rd and 4th grade presentations and a Family Cultural Night. So please list any important cultural celebrations your family is connected to each month (not including birthdays).
