Dear Cole Manor Families,

As we move into the the fall season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. The energy and enthusiasm in our classrooms has been incredible, and we have many exciting events coming up to celebrate learning, culture, and autumn.

At Cole Manor, we are proud to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Students have been engaging in classroom activities that explore the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic Americans. From art projects and read-alouds to music and cultural presentations, our students are learning the value of diversity and the importance of inclusion. Thank you to our staff for creating such meaningful experiences!

PFC Meeting – Tuesday, October 1 at 6:00 PM

Our Parent-Faculty Club (PFC) plays an essential role in supporting our school. Please join us on Tuesday, October 1 for our next meeting. We’ll be discussing upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and more!

Parent Workshop – October 1 at 5:15 PM

Immediately preceding the PFC meeting, we will host a Parent Workshop focused on literacy and student data reports. We encourage all parents and caregivers to attend this informative session.

Fall Harvest Dance – Friday, November 14 (check back for complete information about this annual event!) Our annual Fall Harvest Dance will take place on Friday, November 14th and will again be hosted by our amazing PFC. This is a fun, family-friendly evening full of music, games, and festive spirit. Costumes are welcome (school-appropriate, please). We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Fall Harvest Classroom Parties – Thursday, October 30

Our Fall Harvest Parties will be held on Thursday, October 30 during the school day. Room parents will be coordinating with teachers to bring in treats and activities to make it a joyful celebration for our students. We will also have our annual character parade that day. See the flyer in this newsletter for more information!

Spirit Days are in full swing. These fun theme days encourage creativity and build community. See below for a complete list of our October spirit days.

Finally, I encourage all families to take time each day to read with your child and discuss what they are learning in school that will support them as readers! This is a main focus at Cole Manor. We are committed to ensuring all students can read and comprehend at grade level and do the appropriate grade level math. Partnering with families is so important to ensure every student reaches his or her highest potential.

Thank you for your flexibility as our lobby is refurbished to now include a secure vestibule for all visitors. This will create a separate and secure entrance for all visitors and families. Once completed, visitors will enter at the side entrance. This will ensure student flow is not impacted as visitors enter our building. We are excited to have this additional safety feature as we continue to focus on safety first for our students, staff and families. Thank you!
