Communicating with your Child's Teacher
We know there are many times when you have questions or concerns for your child's teacher. Here's how you can reach them:
1. Call the school at 210-945-1210 and leave a message for the teacher to call you back. The message will be passed on to the teacher by the front office staff.
2. Email the teacher. Email addresses for staff can be found here: https://converse.judsonisd.org/staff
3. Message the teacher in the Judson ISD app.
4. Write a note to the teacher and send it to school in your child's folder.
You can expect a response from the teacher by the end of the next school day, at the latest. For example, if you call on Friday, you should hear back from the teacher by the end of the day on Monday. Remember that our teachers spend most of their day with students, so please be patient. Between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, they only have a short time without students to respond.
If you do not hear back from the teacher or you still have concerns after contacting the teacher, use the attached steps to help you know who to contact.

Character Trait of the Month
Throughout the year, staff will be recognizing students who demonstrate different character traits each month. At the end of each month, teachers will select one student from their class who has best exemplified that month's trait to be celebrated and awarded a certificate in recognition of their character.
September's Character Trait: Citizenship
Being a good citizen means being a kind and helpful member of our community, both in the classroom and beyond. It’s about understanding the importance of rules, showing respect for others, and contributing positively to the world around us.
We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for nurturing these values. Here are some simple ways you can help your child become a good citizen:
Promote Kindness and Respect: Encourage your child to be kind to everyone they meet. Talk about the importance of treating others with respect, even when they disagree.
Discuss Rules and Why They Matter: Explain that rules are in place to keep everyone safe and to make our community run smoothly.
Encourage Community Involvement: Look for opportunities to volunteer together, whether it’s helping a neighbor, participating in a local clean-up, or donating old toys or clothes. This teaches children the value of giving back.
Practice Good Manners: Simple actions like holding a door open for someone, saying "excuse me," or waiting your turn are all part of being a good citizen. Model these behaviors and praise your child when they do the same.
IMPORTANT Clinic News
The following standard first aid over the counter medications/products approved by the District Doctor will be available in the clinic as needed. Contact your Nurse McDowell by phone (210-945-1210) or email (amcdowell@judsonisd.org) if you object to any of the products below.
• Vaseline
• Sterile Saline Eye Irrigate
• Calamine/Caladryl Lotion
• Bacitracin
A child having a fever of 100 or higher will not be allowed to stay in school. Students who are ill in the morning should not be sent to school. This only exposes the other students to illness and spreads germs. The child must remain home until he/she is fever free without fever reducing medications for 24 hours. Giving such medications may mask serious symptoms. (2025-26 JISD Student Handbook, PP. 125-126)

Suicide prevention happens when people and communities come together. When we know what to look for, pay attention to those around us, and act when we see something, we will reduce the number of deaths by suicide. But where do we begin? Whether you are a professional, a worried parent, or a concerned friend, AS+K? training provides resources to help you learn the signs to look for, how to talk to someone about what they are feeling, and where to go for more help. The instructors have been trained by the Texas Suicide Prevention Collaborative.
