8TH GRADE PARENT NIGHT AT GLHS (Re: HS Scheduling)
It's hard to believe, but this week, our 8th Graders will begin meeting with High School Counselors to begin the process of scheduling for their Freshman year at GLHS!
Specifically, all 8th Grade students will attend a presentation by the HS counseling team on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH during the 7th Period "Rotation." In this meeting, counselors will present an overview of HS courses (there are LOTS of options!), required credits, and more.
We want to extend the same information to our families as well!
Please join our HS Counselors of THURSDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 11, at 6:30PM in the Gahanna Lincoln High School AUDITORIUM to better understand what the long path to graduation looks like. This information will also help you reflect with your student about what next year (and beyond) might look like!
FOR EVEN MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SCHEDULING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL...
The information in this scheduling guide might appear overwhelming, but I promise that our colleagues at the High School as well as our whole team here at Middle School South are here to support your child and your family as the first steps into HS begin to take shape.
JUST ONE LAST THING ABOUT SCHEDULING... GRADES 7-12
Please check out the message and information shared below on behalf Mr. Jason Bates, GJPS' Director of College and Career Pathways and Partnerships
As shared on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website, "College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families." More information about the program can be found on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website.
Gahanna Lincoln High School will be virtually hosting their annual College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Student and Parent meeting on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 6:30-8:30pm. The two seperate links below will connect you with the different portions of the informational meeting.
