PowerSchool
When will student schedules be available in PowerSchool?

Time: 3:00 p.m.
Who: All students registered at CCHS
How: Log on to my.cherrycreekschools.org, select the PowerSchool tile
New for 2026-2027 School Year
What: Waiting List for Preferred Classes
Who: All students who did not pre-register for a class but wish to add their name to a waiting list for a class offered during the 2026-2027 school year.
Why: Arena Schedule Changes have been discontinued (please refer to communication sent during semester 2 of the 2025-2026 school year in the Week at Creek). A waiting list gives students one final opportunity.
How: Students can add their name to the waiting list if all three of the following circumstances are met (only students will be able to add their name to the waiting list):
- the requested class has space available
- the student has already met the class's pre-requisites
- the student is not already scheduled to be in a class at that time. In other words, the student has an off period during the requested class (cannot be a student's lunch period)
Important Details:
- A Google Form link will be available by QR code (fliers posted at CCHS), on the CCHS website, sent to students' emails, and sent to parents through a Newsletter.
- Students can only request to add one class AND they can only add their name to the waiting list one time during semester 1.
- Students cannot drop a class and become less than full-time in order to create an off period to request a class on the waiting list.
Date:
- Google Form Availability: 08/18, 08/19, and 08/20/2026
- Students should check PowerSchool each morning beginning 08/19/2026-08/24/2026 to learn if the class they requested is available/has room. If the class is not added to PowerSchool, it means that the waiting list for that class is full.
- Parents will receive a Talking Point message on 08/24/2026 indicating their student was approved or denied.
Our Advice:
- If your student adds their name to the Waiting List, they should continue attending the classes that are listed in PowerSchool. If they stop attending a class prior to PowerSchool being changed, teachers will mark them absent.
- Based on early data for the 2026-2027 school year, our enrollment is slightly above our projection. This means all of our classes are very full, especially the electives. The possibility of making a change is very small.
Schedules for 9th Graders
Guidelines for 9th graders with schedule questions/concerns
- Level Change:
- If the class is too difficult, the student should talk to their teacher. Their teacher can work with the student to determine if the class is the right fit. The department coordinator is the person who will assist the student with a change (and they will communicate with the parent/guardian). Level changes down dates: 9/8/2026-9/26/2026
- If the class is too easy, follow the process identified above. Level changes up dates: 8/18/2026-9/8/2026
- Schedule Error: If students don't have a full schedule (all 9th graders should have a minimum of 6 classes each semester) or if students don't have at least 4 core classes (English, Math, Social Studies, Science, and World Language are core classes), contact your student's counselor.
- Elective Change: Keep in mind 9th grade students chose electives, including alternative electives, when they pre-registered 2nd semester of their 8th grade year. PowerSchool created schedules to include either their first elective choices or their alternate elective choices based on space and availability. If a student believes a change is desired, please see guidelines above for the Waiting List.
