Dress Like a Book Character Day
Friday, October 31
All students are invited to dress like a book character on Friday, October 31, 2025. Students must identify which book character they are dressing like by having a copy of their book with them. Book characters chosen cannot be violent or scary. No weapons are allowed to be carried. Book character dress must be appropriate for students to remain in all day. Free dress guidelines must be followed.
We will have a Literacy Parade in the gym at 8:15am where all of our K-4 students will show their book characters and books to our middle school students. If your child does not dress up as a book character, they can still take part in the literacy parade by showing their favorite book. Our middle school students will actively be looking for different book characters and will be entered into a drawing for identifying the most book characters. Parents are welcome to attend.
Please fill the form below for each child (K-8) that you have at CCA so that we can identify each book character! The form must be completed no later than Thursday at 11:59pm.

This Month's Topic: Safety
Understanding our campus security is key to a safe learning environment. School Resource Officers Bea Quintana and Colton O'Keefe will be on hand to explain CCA’s comprehensive safety protocols. They'll walk attendees through the 'why' and 'how' behind everything we do—from our daily sign-in procedures to our full-scale emergency response plans—ensuring everyone is clear on their role in maintaining campus safety.
Do you have an idea for CCA Connections? Let us know! Email Shoshana Howley at showley2@cherrycreekacademy.org with suggestions.

CCA Community Service Spotlight
We know our students are doing amazing things, not just within our school walls, but out in the wider community as well!
Do you know an Eagle who is making a difference through community service, volunteering, or civic engagement outside of school hours? We want to celebrate them!
We're launching a new feature, Eagles in the Community on TVs throughout CCA to feature students who are dedicating their time and talents to:
Helping a neighbor
Volunteering at a non-profit or shelter
Participating in a local cleanup or charity drive
Serving their community through organizations
Please take a moment to nominate a student and share their story with us. This is a great opportunity to highlight the incredible character and commitment of our students.

Q1 Volunteer Thank You!
We want to send a huge thank you to every parent and guardian who donated their time during the first quarter. Because of your dedication, we officially logged an incredible 3,503.5 volunteer hours!
To put that number into perspective, that is the equivalent of almost 90 full 40-hour work weeks of support! An impressive 34 families have already completed their 40-hour volunteer requirement this year. Keep logging those hours!
Whether you helped in the classroom, assisted with field trips, shelved books in the library, or helped out at a school event, your service is deeply valued. Your commitment is what makes our CCA community so strong. Thank you for making a difference every single day!
