Newsletter #4 - November 1st, 2026
WHS Students and Families,
The holidays are upon us! My hope is that each of you finds time over the next two months to enjoy being with family and friends. The start of the holiday season also signals the home stretch of our semester, with SOL testing beginning in early December.
Although November is just beginning, December will be here before we know it. Little Giants, take time now to review your academic progress, ask questions, and make a plan for a successful finish. Stay on top of assignments, seek help when needed, and prepare for upcoming tests and SOLs.
Parents and guardians, please review your student’s grades together and help them plan for the weeks ahead. Encouraging healthy sleep habits, good nutrition, and thoughtful time management can make a meaningful difference in their success.
I appreciate the hard work our students and families have put into this semester. Let’s carry that effort forward and finish strong!

Principal, Waynesboro High School

Construction Update
Kjellstrom and Lee will complete steel installation this coming week. Staff and students had the opportunity this past Friday to sign the last beams to be installed, literally "leaving their mark" on the newest addition to WHS!
Heading into November, the community will see the completion of cinder block installation, the installation of decking on each level of the structure, followed by the pouring of concrete slabs in early December. This will create the concrete base for each level of the building.

Winter Weather Reminders
With the weather changing through the fall, we wanted to share a few reminders for the school day.
- The main school building opens at 8:10 each day. We ask that students not arrive prior to then. Should a student need to arrive on a given day before this time, the main entry foyer is available during cold or inclement weather.
- Blankets and ski masks should be left at home, or stored, during the school day. This helps us maintain a safe school environment as well as prepare students for workplace expectations.
- Hoods must be down upon entering the school building.
- WPS maintains a clothes closet year round. If a student has a need for cold weather clothing, please see your counselor.
