What is coming up next week? (Little Pearls)
This week as we continue to learn about our bodies, we will be focussing on how to keep our bodies healthy, we will be reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' talking about different foods we enjoy and which foods are good for our bodies. This story also supports our learning about growth and decay and what we notice in nature.
On Wednesday we have our very exciting Pumpkin Picking trip! We will be reading 'Pumpkin Jack', and over the next half term we will be observing our own pumpkin and talk about what changes we notices as it decays overtime.
The pumpkin fun doesn't stop there; on Thursday we plan to make our own delicious pumpkin soup.
We will be using pumpkins to support our maths, as we continue to count in stable order.
And of course, our sensory exploration as we scoop out and get messy looking inside the pumpkins!
We will break up on Friday for half-term and look forward to seeing you all back in nursery on the 2nd November, when we will be talking about our experiences and celebrations, with a particular focus on Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire night, exploring some of our favourite books, 'Room on the Broom, 'Funnybones' and 'The Best Diwali'.

Attendance
As a school, we want to encourage high attendance as we know the positive impact this has on children not just academically but socially too. Many schools give out rewards for 100% attendance but this is not something we do. We appreciate that children can be ill and do not want to discourage those who always attend when they can. We are parents ourselves and can appreciate the battles that sometimes occur in a morning trying to get your child to school when they are not feeling it that day so do want to try to help with this. We do not want to penalise children for being off but want something that we can all aim for to encourage high attendance. As a team, we have decided that we will trial a new approach this summer term. For every 50 sessions that your child attends they will earn some form of reward. The first one will be non-uniform for the day, which is always popular. This means if your child is ill they do not miss out, all children will achieve this when they have earnt 50 sessions. We hope that if for example your child is on 45 sessions it might encourage them to attend to reach their 50.
This week's attendance 12th - 16th October:
Pearls - 94% Below expected standard
Rubies - 100% Excellent
Diamonds -99% Good
Sapphires - 99% Good
