No-New-Millage Bond Issue 6 on the Ballot Next Tuesday No-New-Millage Bond Issue 6 on the Ballot Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday, South Western City Schools will present a No-New-Millage Bond Issue focused on high school facility improvements for grades 9–12, this measure will not raise the district tax rate.

Should the community approve this initiative, it will allow SWCS to start Segment 3 of its long-range facilities plan without increasing taxes. The project will secure approximately $113 million in matching state funds that otherwise will go to another district across the state if SWCS is unable to pass a bond issue.

Key outcomes of Issue 6 include:

  • New High Schools: Constructing brand-new facilities for Grove City High School (GCHS) and Westland High School (WHS).

  • Expanded Career Tech spaces at GCHS and WHS: Addressing waitlists at the South Western Career Academy (over 170 waitlisted last year)

  • Implement Targeted Upgrades: Investing in facility and athletic enhancements for Central Crossing High School and Franklin Heights High School.

    • This will include the addition of turf performance and playing surfaces at CCHS, FHHS, and Westland as well.

No School For Students: Calendar Reminder - students will be in session next Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and not in session next Tuesday for election day.

Future College Athletes

All student athletes planning to play sports at a NAIA or NCAA division college need to register with the NAIA or NCAA eligibility centers as soon as possible.
