Stevenson High School
August 14, 2026 ~ BACK TO SCHOOL
Dear Stevenson Families and Students,
Dear Spartans,
It is with immense pride and pleasure that I write to you as the new principal of Stevenson High School. Whether you are returning to familiar hallways or joining our school community for the first time, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Our staff has worked extraordinarily hard throughout the summer to prepare our campus for your return. Working alongside such a dedicated staff, I am confident that we will continue to cultivate a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to achieve their personal best.
At the core of my educational philosophy is the belief that every student deserves a school environment where they feel supported, challenged, and prepared for life beyond graduation. To that end, I ask for your help and partnership in staying connected to our school community and ensuring that your student maximizes every opportunity to become successful. Our staff is committed to creating engaging and purposeful classrooms that inspire our students to give their personal best.
Education is a collective effort. I would personally like to thank the Stevenson community for the well wishes as I begin this new journey as your new principal. Together, we will honor our traditions, make every minute count in the present, and build a bright future for our students. Thank you for your partnership, your enthusiasm, and your trust.

🎓 CLASS OF 2027 🎓
SHS POLICY UPDATES
Electronic Devices
At Stevenson, we deeply value every single instructional minute. We know that deep learning requires a distraction-free environment, which is why instructional time across all grade levels remains strictly device-free in alignment with Michigan law and district policy.
Here is what you and your student need to know:
In-Class Storage: Cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other electronic devices must be off or silenced. Phones must be placed in designated classroom storage areas, and all other devices kept in backpacks during class time. Device usage is allowed during passing time and lunch.
Protecting Class Time: To ensure a disruption-free learning space, please direct urgent family communications through the main office. Students needing to make a phone call home may do so from the office.
Enforcement: Teachers will partner with students to handle minor issues in the classroom. Persistent non-compliance will involve school administration, which may include device confiscation and disciplinary action.
Exceptions & Liability: Accommodations are made for documented medical needs (e.g., continuous glucose monitors) or admin approval. Students bring devices to school at their own risk; the school is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Leaving Campus Early
Does your student need to leave school early for an appointment or family need? Please remember our 3-step check-out process:
Step 1- Parent/Guardian Authorization: A parent or guardian must either submit a written note, submit a ParentConnect note, or place a phone call to the school authorizing the early release.
Step 2 - Assistant Principal Clearance: Whether authorized by a parent note or a phone call, students must visit their Assistant Principal’s office first to receive clearance.
Step 3 - Building Sign-Out: After AP approval, students must sign out at the main security desk before leaving campus.
E-Bikes & Motorized Transportation
To keep our campus safe for everyone, please review our policy regarding e-bikes, electric scooters, and other motorized personal transportation devices:
Walk Devices on Campus: Once arriving on school property (parking lots, sidewalks, courtyards), students must dismount and walk their devices directly to designated bike racks. Riding on sidewalks, fields, or courtyards is strictly prohibited.
No Riding Before/After Hours: Operating these devices on school property before or after school hours is prohibited. Per City of Livonia ordinance, unauthorized operation may be subject to police prosecution.
Safety First: Students must follow all traffic laws. Reckless riding, excessive speed, stunts, and unauthorized passengers are strictly forbidden.
No Campus Charging: Charging batteries using school electrical outlets is not permitted.
Liability & Enforcement: The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property. Policy violations may result in loss of riding privileges, school disciplinary action, or referral to law enforcement.
✅ Back-to School Check-In
No later than August 20, 2026, all parents are required to login to ParentConnect to complete the electronic back-to-school information packet, including your contact information and emergency card information, for each child prior to the first day of school. This must be completed for new and returning students.
As part of the Back-to-School Check-In, you will be prompted to complete the federal forms to be eligible for benefits available to income-eligible households. Benefits include the summer EBT program and reduced Pay to Participate fees for LPS athletics and activities. Filling out the form also enables Livonia Public Schools to receive important state funding for educational programs. Please check the Food and Nutrition Services webpage at https://www.livoniapublicschools.org/ departments/food-and-nutrition-services for more information on applying.
Please CLICK HERE to access ParentConncect and complete the Back-to-School Checklist (look for the RED Back-to-School Check-In link).
PLEASE USE A COMPUTER (NOT A CELL PHONE) TO COMPLETE THE FALL ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION.
If you need assistance logging into Parent Connect, please email parentconnect@livoniapublicschools.org.
Bus Transportation Info
✅ Request Transportation
If your student qualifies for bus transportation for the 2026–2027 school year, you must complete the electronic bus registration form (see the email that was sent on August 3 for your unique link).
Families are asked to complete the bus registration form even if their student will not use transportation at this time. Simply indicate that transportation is not needed. Transportation can be added later if your family’s needs to change it, but receiving a response from every family helps the district properly plan routes and staffing.
If you did not receive a bus registration email:
- Check with the primary parent or guardian listed for your student in our Student Information System.
- Check your spam, junk, and promotions folders.
- If you still cannot locate the registration email (and your student qualifies for bus service), contact Transportation at lpsbus@livoniapublicschools.org.
✅ Download Stopfinder
Stopfinder invitations and bus route information will be provided during the second week of August. Route information will also be available in ParentConnect. Stopfinder will be the district’s primary transportation communication tool for the upcoming school year, providing bus schedules, live bus tracking, alerts, and push notifications regarding delays.
TIP: Your student's bus route information will appear in the Stopfinder app BEFORE it appears in your ParentConnect account!
Medication at School
A student cannot be in possession of or take prescription drugs or non-prescription medication, such as Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, Tums etc. at school or during school.
If it is necessary for a student to take medication during the school day (prescription or non-prescription), a Medication Authorization form must be completed and signed by both the doctor and the parent. All medication will be kept in the Main Office for the student’s use and dispensed by office staff.
We encourage you to bring your student's Medication Authorizations (along with their medication) and Health Care Plans before school starts. Our office is open from 7:00am-3:00pm daily. Mrs. Debbie Pline / DPline2@livoniapublicschools.org / ext. 48913

2026-2027 FAFSA
Haven't Completed the FAFSA Yet?? No Problem!
This school year saw delays & complications with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Thankfully that is all behind us and financial aid reports have been sending to college & trade school financial aid offices since April. If you have a graduating senior, assist their completion of the FAFSA with the resources below. There has never been a better time for students to use state & federal aid to pay for postsecondary costs. Remember, by filling out the FAFSA you are not accepting loans; your student may be eligible for free money in the form of Grants, Scholarships, Michigan Tuition Assistance Program & the Michigan Achievement Scholarship. The only way to utilize this free financial aid is to do the first step - complete the FAFSA.
