The Lemon Crest ROAR
*Friday, September 26, 2025*
A Message from Principal Price
Dear Lemon Crest Families,
Join Our School Site Council!
We are looking for parents/caregivers to serve on our School Site Council (SSC) this year. The SSC plays an important role in shaping the direction of Lemon Crest by reviewing our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and providing valuable input on how we can best support our students.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 14 at 2:30pm in the library! Come by to learn more or email me if you’re interested in joining! Your voice matters, and this is a wonderful way to be directly involved in making our school even better.
Traffic Safety & Civility Reminder
At Lemon Crest, the safety of our students is always our top priority. We are working hard to ensure that drop-off and pick-up times run as smoothly and safely as possible, whether your child is walking or being driven. We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation during these busy times.
Please also be mindful of the way we speak to one another. Our staff members are here to help, and it is important that all interactions remain respectful. We have had recent reports of staff being spoken to in unkind or inappropriate ways, and we ask for your partnership in modeling positive communication for our children. Thank you for helping us keep Lemon Crest a safe, caring place for every student and adult!
Parent/Teacher Conferences are October 6-9!
We will have Minimum Days (11:10am dismissal for TK & K; 11:30am dismissal for 1st-5th) on October 6-9 for Parent/Teacher Conferences! Your child(ren)'s teacher will send out a sign-up sheet. You can meet in-person or via Google Meets/Zoom if needed. Friday, October 10, there is no school for students.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Jen Price
Lemon Crest Principal

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price
If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!
Contacting Principal Price:
Email: jprice@lsusd.net
Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available
In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!
Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.
Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Theme for the Year: Planting Possibility
This year, our school's theme is Planting Possibility, inspired by the children's book, Curious Garden, written by Peter Brown. Click the link below for a read-aloud of the book by Principal Price!
