Parent UpdateJanuary 2026

Together, we are The 1104! Together, we are The 1104!

Our Vision: Empowering the lives of our learners. Our Vision: Empowering the lives of our learners.

This year's theme: Every Learner, Every Day This year's theme: Every Learner, Every Day

I hope you all have a restful, joyful, and memorable winter break filled with quality time with family and friends.

Thank you for your incredible partnership and support during the first semester of this school year. Your dedication to your children's education and our school community is so important to us, and we are so grateful for everything you do.

Also, thank you for bringing your children to school each day. Our schools have maintained a 94% attendance for the first semester! This shows your committment to getting your children to school each day.

As we begin this new semester, we are excited to build on our momentum. We'll be focusing on rigorous instruction, providing academic supports to all of our learners, promoting positive behavior and ensuring every student feels safe, supported, and ready to achieve their best.

Wishing you all a healthy, happy, and successful New Year!

~ Mrs. Phillips

Important information for parents:

Morning arrival: Our carlines begin at 7:30. All parents must drop their children off through the carlines. The parking lot on Balboa near the school office is not open for learners to be dropped off. Beginning January 6th, the front door of the school will be locked to learners until 7:55 a.m. Only parents who scheduled meetings/or making payments will be allowed into the school building. ALL learners who arrive after 7:55 must be acompanied by an adult to sign in the learner. These procedures are part of our school policy that is located in the Student Code of Conduct and Handbook. (Safety Patrol can drop off before 7:30 and those that have permission from Administration; although after 7:30, the carline must be used.

Afternoon dismissal: NO CARS are allowed into the BALBOA ST. PARKING LOT BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 2:45 - 3:45 P.M. If your child is a walker, they MUST walk to the designated location on the walker form you filled out. For those parents who do WALK to pick up their children, they may wait outside the front entrance to get their child. In addition, on days where there are high volumes of rain, ALL walkers will be sent to the carline to pick up their child (as stated on the walker form).

Field Trip Chaperones:

To ensure the safety of our students and compliance with state regulations, Palm Bay Schools will require that all Chaperones and Volunteers undergo a Level 2 background screening and receive clearance before being approved to attend school events or travel with students beginning January 6th. Paperwork for this is available in the school office. This process takes at least 30 days so it is important that you begin early.

During the month of January, we are focusing on Showing Respect at The 1104

Showing respect mean to value everyone at Palm Bay (peers, teachers, self) by listening, using polite words, being kind, accepting differences, respecting property, and following rules, all while taking ownership of your learning and behavior through actions like saying "please," raising your hand, and being honest.

It's about making the school a positive place by valuing the dignity and worth of each person and thing, contributing to safety and better relationships.
