At Evergreen, we view arrival and dismissal as a shared responsibility and an important part of our school culture. The safety and well-being of our students depends on the coordinated efforts of families, staff, bus drivers, student walkers, and community members. Each person's actions contribute to the overall success of these daily routines.

As an interdependent community, we ask everyone to approach arrival and dismissal with patience, awareness, and a commitment to following established expectations. When we work together, we create a safer, more efficient experience for all students and ensure that every school day begins and ends with care. Please see the below notes for general information related to before and after school.

  • Class hours are from 7:30am to 2:05pm (Mondays – Thursdays) and 7:30am to 12:50pm on Fridays.
  • Students should not be on campus prior to 7:10am unless they are part of a specific group (example: Jazz Band).
  • Before classes begin, students may eat breakfast in the Commons but must wait for our opening bell in their designated area (6th graders wait in our front lobby / 7th and 8th graders wait under to covered area/basketball courts). Students not eating breakfast are expected to proceed directly to one of these wait areas until an administrator dismisses for First Period. Students are not to linger in the Commons as we do not have the capacity to safely host more than 300 students for breakfast in the Commons at a given time.
  • As noted above, students may be in the building before or after school if they have a pass from a teacher or are participating in a before or after school sponsored activity.

Arrival to School: Arrival to School:

Arrival at Evergreen begins early as we utilize the same start time as our Everett high schools. In general, we utilize both of our school lots, the northwest lot that leads to the front entrance of our school and the south lot at the recognized back of our school.

Bus Arrival (South Lot):

  • Busses will drop students off in the front lot (south parking lot, near McDonalds/Beverly Lane).
  • From the bs lot, our students are guided around to the east entrance of our Commons for breakfast or to their designated before school waiting area (6th grade in the lobby and 7th/8th grade under the covered outdoors area)
  • We ask that personal vehicles do not use this lot during AM arrival or PM dismissal as this creates safety challenges for our students and traffic for our buses.

Car Rider & Walker Arrival (Northwest Lot):

  • Student drop-off is located at our northwest lot, located for entry/exit from Beverly Lane.
  • As noted, please only use our northwest parking lot to drop your child off in the morning.
  • Dropoff drivers, please enter the south entrance of our northwest lot from Beverly Lane. As you enter you will see the yellow “School Bus Only – Do Not Enter” signs. This loop area is reserved for school buses only, so please do not enter.
  • Please drop your child next to our building/gyms (green area, below graphic)
  • Students will proceed to the right, to the front entrance if they are in sixth grader and/or they are going to the Commons for breakfast. Seventh and eighth graders will proceed to the left, to the covered court area.
  • Hallways open upon administrator direction ahead of our 7:30am start bell.
  • Once you’ve dropped off your child, please remain in a single line of vehicles to the lot exit. Please only turn right onto Beverly as you exit our campus.
  • Reminder: For the safety of our students, please do not attempt to go around cars that are dropping off.

Dismissal From School: Dismissal From School:

At the dismissal bell, our Timberwolves are expected to leave school in a safe and orderly manner. At dismissal, students proceed to one of three designated locations: 1) Bus Lot (south lot), 2) Car Rider-Lot (northwest lot), or 3) their designated location for athletics/clubs. Students are required to leave campus at 2:05pm unless they are involved in a supervised school sponsored activity.

Bus Dismissal (South Lot):

  • Buses will pick up students in the south lot.
  • Students must board their designated bus quickly as buses exit our lot between 2:09pm and 2:12pm).
  • Students not exiting to a bus must exit our school through our front exit (car-rider lot).

Car Rider & Walker Dismissal (Northwest Lot):
  • Students who are being picked up or are walking home are expected to exit through our front doors, to the northwest lot.
  • Drivers who are picking-up students, please enter the south entrance of our northwest lot from Beverly Lane. As you enter, you will see the yellow “School Bus Only – Do Not Enter” signs. This loop area is reserved for school buses only, so please do not enter. Please pick up your child/children at the designated drop-off/pick-up zone, located along the front of our school building (please see the above image for visual reference)
  • Students who are waiting for their ride simply wait until that driver/car arrive at the front of our school.
  • Students who are walking are expected to use our sidewalks as they exit our campus.

Note: Beyond regular school hours must remain off all Everett Public School property unless they are directly participating in or attending an Evergreen game/event. Evergreen students that pick-up siblings at other schools are not to go on school grounds without permission of a school administrator and expected to remain at the designated waiting area.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to support our Timberwolves and strengthen our Evergreen community. GO GREEN!
