Discuss

This article is the second of a series of posts, and in this post she shares 11 strategies for working with a perfectionist-type teacher. NOTE: the link for Spheres of Control is broken, but I found it at Aguilar's website Read through it before discussing the questions below.

These strategies can be used in analyzing how to coach a teacher with a perfectionist dysfunction (Aguilar's words, not mine).

What makes these 11 strategies important?

How could Mind the Gap and Spheres of Control function together? How do they work separately and together in different ways?

When might The Core Emotions tool be most useful and why?

Apply

Work through the Spheres of Control exercise as Aguilar suggests. Record your reflection in a document, video, or sketchnote

What insights did you gain about how you personally use your energy?

Recalling the 11 strategies, list each, and make a note for each on how much you already incorporate them into your coaching (High, Medium, Low, Non-Existent).

Refer back to your T chart from the Part 1 article - choose one coaching request or PD session where you might have applied any of these 11 strategies and describe what the result might have been.
