Message from the Principal
JAJHS Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well! We’ve hopefully arrived at the end of the weather-impacted chapter of January! While it’s been a bit challenging to get momentum going, our kids have again shown their resilience, and our teachers have exemplified their flexibility and professionalism!
We have several exciting items coming up in February for our students:
In Advisory, we’ll spend some time wrapping up our Tinkercad 3D-printing school improvement prototypes project. We’ll discuss the value of sharing kindness with others. We will also take some time to share some important reminders of digital citizenship and media literacy. We all play a role in helping our students to make safe and smart choices online!
Some of our 8th grade students were randomly selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress, or NAEP. Those students and families have been notified and will complete this on February 21st.
Lastly, our 8th grade students will begin to hear more about their transition to high school. This includes beginning to receive information about scheduling and high school options.
Please be sure to read the newsletter below for important reminders and activities around our school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Malany
Principal

Medication at the JAJHS
● If your student is taking any medication at school, please make sure you have completed and turned in the correct documentation.
● All medication must be brought to school by a parent/guardian. Students should not carry medication on them.
● Please drop off clinic medications to the school nurse at the JAJHS on Wednesday mornings between 7:15AM-9:30AM when she is in her office. You can email her at rutherti@japioneers.org to schedule other times if this doesn’t work for your family.
● All medical information and documents can be found on the school website under the “Health Services” tab.
● We are in the peak of cold and flu season. Please continue to encourage your students to wash hands, eat well, get plenty of rest, and cover cough/sneezes.
Thank you for helping us keep your students healthy and safe!
