YELLOW ZONE REMINDER: Walker/Parking Routes
Hello SRE Families,
Just a friendly reminder about our Yellow Zone for dismissal. Please see the image below to reference all of our walker routes, zones, etc.
- Yellow Zone (Santa Rita Boulevard)– There are no residential homes in this area.
- No students will be released to walk this route.
- We ask that you DO NOT park in the yellow zone to support taffic on Santa Rita Blvd. and student safety
- Families who choose to park along Santa Rita Boulevard are not in violation of the law, but you must park, get out of the vehcicle and meet your student at Parent Pick-Up #1, #2, or #3 with your car tag for verification.
- Independent walkers are also not permitted to exit through this zone.
Independent Walker Definition: An independent walker means no parent is present in any capacity at dismissal. If staff does not see you and you do not see staff, you are allowing your child to walk 100% on their own.
We sincerely thank the many families who have shown support for our campus, our staff, our community, and most importantly, all students by respecting and following our processes. Your partnership allows us to keep every child safe and it is GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you for working with us to ensure that dismissal is safe and successful for every child.
Sincerely,
Kendell

Holiday Class Parties
Holiday Class Party Schedules
Our next big campus event is our Holiday Class Parties, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Please review the adjusted class schedules listed below so you know exactly when your child’s celebration will take place. To help streamline entry into the building, we are offering an RSVP “Fast Pass” form for all visitors attending. Completing this form ahead of time will greatly expedite your check-in process on the day of the event.
We are looking forward to a joyful December together! Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Kendell Luedtke

Dear Santa Rita Families and Friends,
We invite you all to attend your child's classroom Holiday Party on Thursday, December 18th (Pre-K/ESLE) & Friday, December 19th (K-5th).
Please remember all treats must be store bought items. If you plan to check your child out early, they then need to leave campus. Once students have been checked out, they may not attend other parties on campus. If you will be checking out multiple children from different grade levels, please wait until the last party to check them out.
To expedite our process of checking family and friends in for school events and class parties, Santa Rita will continue to use our Google RSVP “Fast Pass” system. Before any large school event or class party, an RSVP “Fast Pass” will be sent out for you to fill out via email and parent newsletter. Filling out the form allows us to have your visitor badge pre-printed in advance of the day, so we can have them ready for you. This allows you to enter quickly with just the showing of your ID.
If your ID has already been scanned into our system this school year, your badge will be pre-printed but you will still be required to show your ID for entry. If your ID has never been scanned into our system this school year, you may want to drop by before the party or event, to scan it and expedite your entry.
You must have your ID on the event day regardless if your badge is pre-printed or not. LHISD policy is "NO ID, No Entry". However, the RSVP process will speed along your entry as well as the check out process for any students leaving early.
Classroom teachers will be sending more information home with details of class parties and needs. Please now that your child will have an adjusted schedule, meaning their lunch time will be at a different time if you plan on eating with them (See Schedule Below).
THIS FORM NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY: Friday, December 12, 2025.
Dress Up Week! December 15th-19th
We are excited to celebrate the season with our upcoming Holiday Dress-Up Week. Each day of the week beginning on December 15th, students are invited to join in the fun with simple, festive themed attire.
Please know that participation is completely optional. Students are welcome to dress up if they’d like, or come in regular school-appropriate clothing, whatever works best for your family! There is no expectation or requirement to purchase anything special.
Below, you’ll find the theme for each day. We can’t wait to enjoy a week full of smiles, spirit, and Wrangler pride!
Thank you for your continued support in making SRE a joyful place to learn and grow.
Transportation Changes
Keeping consistent afternoon dismissal, will support your child in feeling safe and confident at the end of each day. If it is necessary to request a transportation change, please visit our district transportation site . All changes must be made by email before 1pm on the day of the change. This is an LHISD policy. Any transportation change requests after 1:00pm will not be honored. Any emails sent to campus personnel requesting a transportation change will not be accepted.
Parents will get a confirmation email for transportation changes, but please be mindful that it might take time. If they don’t hear back from our receptionist 1pm, you may call the campus to confirm it was received.
Early pickup cut off time is 2:40. If you wish to pick up your child early, you must park in the parking lot and come into the building with a valid ID to check your child out with the receptionist.
SRE Attendance Emails & Calls
Attendance emails & attendance calls are going out - please give us up to a week to process/update excused absences before calling to check if they have been taken care of.
December: Responsibility
RESPONSIBILITY:
Taking ownership of our actions and decision
How to help children learn responsibility-
Give age appropriate tasks
Set realistic expectations
Explain how to do the task by showing them!
Expect children to be accountable for actions, even if it means consequences are needed.
Give praise when it’s noticed!
At SRE, students are expected to show responsibility for their work and actions. Be Safe! Be Respectful! Be Responsible!
Families, please check your child's backpack and school items each morning to make sure they have everything that they need. There have been many forgotten items brought to campus after instruction has begun. Here are some tips to support with this:
- Have backpacks packed every night
- Use sticky notes as reminders
- Have students complete an inventory checklist- backpack, snack, water bottle, lunch, etc.
- Have your child develop a routine of organzing items to ensure that nothing gets left behind
