Behavior Bulletin
Welcome
The Behavior Bulletin aims to empower campus leaders in coaching classroom teachers to improve student behavior and outcomes. By providing resources, training, and support, we aim to equip educators with the tools they need to create positive and supportive learning environments, reducing the isolation teachers often feel when dealing with discipline challenges.
Welcome Back!
As we launch into a new school year, remember: STOIC isn’t one more thing — it’s the foundation of effective classroom management and aligned with T-TESS. Coaching teachers on STOIC practices early helps set the tone for strong instruction and a positive campus culture.
Weekly Behavior Tip
STOIC Quick Refresher
This month’s focus is on STOIC, a proactive classroom management framework designed to create structured, predictable, and supportive learning environments. STOIC stands for:
Structure for success (classroom setup, routines)
Teach expectations (explicit, modeled, practiced
Observe (active supervision)
Interact positively (relationships, 4:1 ratio)
Correct calmly (consistent, respectful responses)
Administrators and other instructional coaches can help by encouraging teachers to use the STOIC Teacher Reflection Checklist as part of their own practice. Small changes—such as reinforcing routines or building in more positive interactions—can make a big difference in classroom climate.

Behavior Year at a Glance
Use the Behavior Year at a Glance during PLCs to guide which expectations and routines need to be taught, retaught, and reinforced each month. This tool:
Keeps STOIC practices aligned with campus-wide character building.
Helps PLCs plan intentional lessons tied to student needs.
Ensures consistency across classrooms and grade levels.
Encourage teams to reference it weekly in PLCs to strengthen planning and ensure proactive behavior support.
Encouragement & Next Steps
- Celebrate teachers already modeling strong STOIC practices.
- Share success stories or photos of effective classroom setups.
- Next month’s focus: Observe & Interact – strategies for supervision and building positive relationships.
