Miss. North Carolina Visits Vance
Miss North Carolina, Sophia Kellstrom, visited Vance County Schools, sharing the importance of kindness and helping others! She read her book, encourage students and inspired them all to act like a superhero by being kind every day! Visits took place at Carver Elementary, Zeb Vance Elementary, Aycock Elementary, LB Yancey Elementary and EO Young Elementary!
Celebrating the Arts
The district made a broader impact with the Arts this year, kicking off Celebration of the Arts in March! This event allowed teachers of the arts to visit artists at every VCS school and impacting over 1,000 students in 3 days! We are excited about the Celebration of the Arts! School administrations have worked closely with Mr. Markoch, Director of Arts & Physical Education, to maximize the capacity of the teachers, cast a broad exposure of the arts across all schools, and truly celebrate the Arts!

Student Services (SBHT, Policy, Safety)
Vance Cares Community Center,
The Vance Cares Community Center, located on the Vance County Middle School campus, is here for VCS families. Inside, you’ll find school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, diapers, a pet pantry with animal supplies, and so much more—all designed to support our family’s needs. If you have a student that could benefit from these resources, please reach out to your school’s social worker or counselor. We’re here to help, because in Vance County Schools, no family stands alone.
The Vance Cares Community Center is grateful to our community partners: Variety Wholesalers, Triangle North Health Foundation, Wash House M.R. Williams, LifeLine, Diaper Bank of NC, Maria Parham Health, Granville Vance Public Health, Adolescent Parenting Program, and Girl Scout Troop 1119.
