Dear All Star Families,

This month, as a school, we are focusing on improving hallway behavior. After talking with staff and students, and reviewing the results from a survey completed by students in grades 3 - 5, we determined that our hallway behavior needed some refinement. I had a brief meeting with our 2nd - 5th graders , where we reviewed expectations. Our staff has been recognizing our students in those grades who demonstrate great hallway behavior with "Rocky Raffle Tickets". Since our kindergarten and first-grade students have demonstrated expected behaviors, we are focusing on our older students. We will survey everyone again later in the month, but we already see improvements and our students are excited about the Rocky Raffle. They shared input for prizes which include extra recess, time in the gym or art room and spending time with teachers. Our students have already shared their ideas for other imprtovements.

We had a great Arts Festival last week! It is always wonderful to see our students shine on stage! There are some photos below.

Looking ahead, we will have Walk to School on Wednesday, April 22. Next week we celebrate Earth Day! Take Your Child to Work Day is April 23, and there is a form below to complete if your child will be missing school for the day. This is an excused absence.

We are looking to warm, sunny weather this week! As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.

Sincerely,

Ms. Gianfredi

Wednesday, April 15

As you know, we are an inclusive school that celebrates our students! April is Autism Acceptance Month. On Wednesday, we plan to wear RED to show our love and acceptance of our All Stars with Autism. We will wear “Red instead” as many people from the Autism community prefer to wear red today in an effort to support Acceptance, rather than just awareness.
