The Husky Howl
Parent Newsletter: April
A Message from Mrs. Upshaw
Spring is here and we are HERE for the warmer temperatures and sunshine!
At our school, the Spring months and Quarter 4 Grading Period are all about growth! Our students and staff have worked diligently to ensure that each student makes progress and it is time to show what they know.
In the months of April and May, our 3rd & 4th grade students will take the Reading and Math STAAR tests, we will continue Unit assessments for Reading, and we will measure each student's progress with End of Year (EOY) MAP assessments. Our staff will communicate your child's progress with you along the way.
This newsletter includes:
- STAAR Letter for Parents about April testing
- Classroom Attendance Incentive
- "Spring-At-A-Glance" for events
- Nurse McGhee's update
- PK Fair Registration information
- Summer Mover and Registration for 2026-2027
- Resource links to our Grade Level Newsletter website, Hope Elementary website, and Year-At-A-Glance for Events.
Thank you for sharing your child with us and for your connection with our school community!

Parent Volunteers & Field Trips
Reminder that NO parents or volunteers may attend the field trip site or engage with our students unless they are on the approved volunteer list. Field trips are part of our instructional day and we MUST guarantee safety and prior approval. Depending upon the field trip site, parent volunteers may be limited. Verify with your child's teacher regarding details.
- Parents arriving without approval will be asked to leave the site.
- Parents may verify their volunteer approval by contacting the front office contacthope@conroeisd.net or 936-709-4700.
Classroom Attendance Incentive
We will be celebrating a new and exciting way to encourage our Huskies to come to school every day. This image is posted outside of each classroom. Each day that a HOME ROOM is fully present the teacher will color in a letter of the word “Attendance”. Once the class has been 100% present for 10 days they will earn 15-20 minutes of extra recess/husky hangout time. This is a repeated reward for each time your class has 10 successful days of attendance.
We look forward to seeing you all celebrate attendance with our Huskies!
Husky Pride Cart
Last week students had the opportunity to shop the Husky Pride Cart with their Husky Bucks. Have your students bring them to school and save them for April’s Husky Pride Cart visit! Thank you PTO for sponsoring our prizes!
Digital Lost & Found
Dear Hope Families,
We are excited to announce a new way to help reunite your students with their missing belongings: our Digital Lost & Found!
To make the process more convenient for you, we have moved our inventory online. You can now browse through lost items from home to see if anything belongs to your child.
How to Use the Digital Lost & Found:
Access the Drive: You can find the digital gallery and detailed Directions for Use in our shared drive.
Sorted by Size: For your convenience, clothing items have been photographed and organized into folders by size, so you can quickly filter through the items.
Regular Updates: We will be updating the digital gallery twice a month with new arrivals.
Unsorted Items: Please note that there may be some recently found items that have not been photographed or sorted yet. We will upload these as they become available.
Our goal is to keep our building neat and organized while ensuring your students have what they need for a successful day. If you have any questions about using the new digital system, please feel free to reach out to Mr Castagnoli directly pcastagnoli@conroeisd.net
