The Weekly Roar!

August 21, 2026

Mr. Stephen Armstrong’s Senior AV Practicum students are getting hands-on experience learning how to set up and operate the video board for Friday Night Lights. From the classroom to the stadium, these students are putting their skills to work and helping bring the game-day experience to life at KHS!

A new school year means new faces at KHS! We’re excited to welcome these incredible educators and staff to the Kaufman High School family:

Mr. Ryan Brown, Technology Staff

Mr. Daniel Burnett, Art Teacher

Coach Shannon Howard, AV Teacher and Basketball Coach

Ms. Shelby Martinez, CNA Teacher

Ms. Jackie Rodriguez, LLC Staff
Ms. Alexa Toy, English Teacher

We would also like to introduce our new high school attendance clerk, Ms. Claudia Henson. Raised here in Kaufman, she has worked for KISD on and off over the years. It's our privilege to welcome her back as a forever Lion.

When you need to submit attendance for your student at KHS, you can email her at chenson@kaufman-isd.net or use the Google Form link to submit it directly.

Get to know these Lions and help us celebrate the students who represent KHS both on and off the court!

Kaufman High School Band has officially been invited to perform in the 2028 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California!

Out of hundreds of bands from around the globe, only 18 bands were selected—and Kaufman High School is one of them!

Even more incredible, KHS is the only Texas school invited to the 2028 Rose Parade and the only 4A band in Texas history!

This is an extraordinary honor for our students, directors, staff, families, and entire Kaufman community, as the Rose Parade reaches 70+ million viewers worldwide every New Year's Day. We couldn't be more proud of the Kaufman Lions Band and the incredible work that has earned them a place on one of the world's biggest stages!
