Glenwood
This Week's Scouting Report
Thursday September 18, 2025
It was such a pleasure to see so many parents and guardians this week at our Back to School Nights. We appreciate you taking the time to attend the presentations with your child's teacher. Working together and communicating between home and school is so important for your student's success. We truly appreciate your support.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Christa Consadene cconsadene@rtmsd.org.
Tomorrow: Wear Rose Tree Colts or Favorite Team or Glenwood GREEN!
Honoring Dignity by Building Relationships and Resolving Conflict
Kids (and adults!) sometimes find themselves in situations where a decision was made that led to harm. This harm may be physical or emotional. Imagine teaching our kids how to communicate with each other about what happened and how those words or behaviors impacted others around them. Through discussion, students are able to accept responsibility for those words and behaviors and create ideas about how to fix any hurt feelings. Restorative Practices is a social science that does just that! 80% of Restorative Practices is building relationships, and 20% is responding to situations by teaching students to reflect and repair the harm.
With Mr. Harrison’s training in Restorative Practices and having his office at Glenwood Elementary, our students have the unique opportunity to participate in restorative discussions, led by Mr. Harrison, that will focus on renewing and strengthening relationships. As part of our PBIS interventions, Mr. Harrison may be meeting with students in conflict to lead discussions and restore friendships. If you have questions, please feel free to email Mr. Harrison at rharrison@rtmsd.org.

Glenwood Helping Glenwood
Greetings Glenwood Families! We want to remind families about a wonderful resource available at our school called Glenwood Helping Glenwood. This program, generously supported by our PTG and other school fundraisers, is here to assist Glenwood families who may need financial assistance covering the cost of field trips or other school-sponsored activities. If your family could benefit from this support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our School Counselor, Dana Vellios-Miller, at dvellios@rtmsd.org when the activity or field trip is upcoming or advertised. All requests are handled with care and confidentiality.
Car Line Procedures
All families were given one car line sheet at Back to School Nights.
INSTRUCTIONS for parent pick-up of students in car line:
1. Write student’s first, last name and grade in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS using a black BOLD marker on the green card
2. Place this on your passenger side visor (right side up when the visor is down) with rubber bands
3. Flip your visor down when picking up your child in car line so our staff can read the name(s)
REMINDER: Please stay with your vehicle at all times, your child will be waiting with our staff on the sidewalk along the front of the school. When you enter our campus, you should follow the car line traffic: make a left along the back row of parking spots, right to the 2nd row, and left to pull along the front of the building. (Please refer to the map)
