Dear Proviso D209 Families,

As we enter the final month of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we've taken together. Since beginning my role in December, it has been an honor to witness the growth, resilience, and achievements across our district. The progress we've made is a true testament to the strength of our students, staff, and community.

Please note that Senior finals will take place from May 13 through May 16, and finals for Freshmen through Juniors will be held from May 28 through May 30. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2025 at graduation on Saturday, May 24th at the University of Illinois-Chicago’s Credit Union 1 Pavilion.

Thank you for your continued support as we finish the school year strong. I wish all our students and families a successful and joyful end to the year.

Multiple measles cases have been confirmed in Cook County, including Chicago. Measles is highly contagious, and students without the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine are at serious risk.

✅ No-cost MMR vaccines, physicals, and other services are available for all Proviso East, West, and PMSA students at the Loyola School-Based Health Center at Proviso East (Room B86).

Don’t forget—register by May 31 to avoid late fees!

Academic summer classes will be held at Proviso East and Proviso West, Monday–Thursday from 8 AM to 1 PM, with Credit Recovery as a priority.

💵 A $100 registration fee will be added to your student’s PowerSchool account after registration. Families who qualify for free or reduced fees based on the Income Verification Form submitted during registration will have the fee automatically waived as part of the enrollment process.

Payments can be made online or at your school’s main office before May 31. A $125 late fee begins June 1.

Get ready to stay active and sharpen your skills this summer! Proviso East and Proviso West will host Summer Sports Camps for students looking to train, compete, and have fun.

Camps are scheduled on select dates between June 16 and July 24 and will take place after Summer School, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Students can attend sports camps at either Proviso East or Proviso West depending on availability and sport.

• June 16–18 (3 days)

• June 23–26 (4 days)

• June 30 (1 day only)

• July 7–10 (4 days)

• July 14–17 (4 days)

• July 21–24 (4 days)

Note: There is no camp on June 19 due to the holiday.

Estimadas familias de Proviso D209,

Al comenzar el último mes del año escolar, quiero tomar un momento para reflexionar sobre el camino que hemos recorrido juntos. Desde que comencé mi puesto en diciembre, ha sido un honor presenciar el crecimiento, la resiliencia y los logros en todo nuestro distrito. El progreso que hemos logrado es un verdadero testimonio de la fortaleza de nuestros estudiantes, personal y comunidad.

Tomen en cuenta que los exámenes finales para los estudiantes del último año (seniors) se llevarán a cabo del 13 al 16 de mayo, y los exámenes para los estudiantes de primer a tercer año serán del 28 al 30 de mayo. ¡Prepárate para mantenerte activo y mejorar tus habilidades este verano! Proviso East y Proviso West ofrecerán Campamentos Deportivos de Verano para estudiantes que deseen entrenar, competir y divertirse.

Los campamentos se realizarán en fechas seleccionadas entre el 16 de junio y el 24 de julio, después de la Escuela de Verano, de 1:30 p.m. a 4:30 p.m. Los estudiantes pueden asistir a los campamentos en Proviso East o Proviso West, según la disponibilidad y el deporte.
