🚌 Back To School Open House - Tuesday, August 13th 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Hello and welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Howe Public Schools! The Administration, Teachers, and Staff would like to invite our students and their parents to join us at Back To School Open House to learn more about the adventures awaiting your child during this school year!

You can "like" our District Facebook page and visit our website www.howeschools.org to stay up to date on all activities and announcements throughout the school year!

In addition to our school website, we also have a school App available for both iOS and Android devices. Once you have downloaded the app on your device, enable push notifications in settings - this is the easiest way to receive updates right on your phone.

High School Student Class Schedules

Howe High School students or parents can login to the PowerSchool parent/student portal to see their class schedule. A printed schedule will be available to students on the first day of school. Students can pick up their PowerSchool student logins from their English Teacher during Back To School Night. Please note: All class changes will be addressed the first two weeks of school. More information on how to request a schedule change will be shared with students on the first day of school.

Enrollment Reminders

For all NEW and APPROVED enrollees, please make plans to bring the following required enrollment documents to the High School and Elementary office the week of July 29- Aug 1: copy of CDIB (if applicable), birth certificate, social security card, proof of immunizations, and for all new students a copy of the student's transcript from their previous school (if available). Proof of residency (see enrollment forms for more information.) Foreign Exchange students must provide a copy of their J1 student passport.

All 7th Grade Competitive Athletes and any NEW 8th-12th Grade Competitive Athletes: Please download and complete the OSSAA Eligibility Record Form and return to Mr. Chris Brown at your earliest convenience and prior to the beginning of the school year. Copies of this form are available at the Elem or HS school offices.

Transfer Student Information

If your student is a new transfer student to Howe Public Schools and their pre-registration enrollment has been accepted, be sure to stop by your child's school office to complete a transfer request form as soon as possible, if you have not done so already. All new students need to bring the following items to the offices also.

1. Child's birth certificate

2. Proof of immunizations

3. Copy of child's CDIB (if applicable)

4. Student legal name change and/or changes in parental custody if changes have occurred

5. Proof of residence if you live in the district

Book Bonanza in the HPS Library

Lots of things are happening at our library! The HPS Lions Library is now serving grades PreK-8! ALL of the nonfiction collection is now ready for students wanting to take an Accelerated Reader test.

The HS “book”tique collection will be opening in the Tech Building in September with a BRAND NEW collection of books! More details coming soon.

Please return any library books you might have found over the summer. Come by the library during open house to guess how many “bookworms” we have in the library to win a prize and to sign up for a public library card with your child. This card will allow your child to access all of the Southeast Oklahoma Library System materials, both physically and virtually (age-appropriate restrictions are in place).

FREE breakfast and lunches to all students

We are thrilled to announce that our school has qualified for the CEP Child Nutrition status, providing FREE breakfast and lunches to all students for this school year!

For the past two years, we have proudly subsidized the cost of meals, absorbing over $100,000 each year to ensure no burden was placed on our parents and families. This year, thanks to the CEP program, we can continue supporting our students' nutritional needs without any additional cost to you.

Together, we are committed to fostering a healthy and successful learning environment for all. Thank you for your continued support!
