On Wednesday, November 9, Middle and High school students in the STARS program made over 65 cards for local Veterans! They also learned about a special “Missing Soldier Ceremony” that is often held when a community has lost a soldier in the line of duty in some capacity. Several of the students took on a role for the very moving ceremony performed at Van Allen Senior Apartments. In addition, they also made “hardtack” which many soldiers in earlier wars would have had on them as a form of easy sustenance. It was a very informative and special day!

Congratulations to RCS High School sophomore Rachel Squadere for being named Artist of the Month for October! View some of her pieces and learn more about why she received this recognition in the article below.

The RCS Middle School Drama Club returns to the High School stage with live performances of the hit musical Disney's Frozen Junior on November 18, 19, and 20! They can't wait to share these icy-cool performances with the greater RCS community! Please find the official poster with ticket information and related details below.

We hope to see you there!

We had two wonderful Trunk or Treats at our elementary schools recently! Big thank you to the PBC Parent Teacher Organization, and AWB Parent Teacher Association for holding the events and to all the families, local community members, and organizations for participating!!

Did you know that each RCS campus has a Little Free Library on it? Students and the community are invited to borrow books to enjoy! Recently, the MS/HS campus received a brand new Little Free Library thanks to a community project completed by PBC Teacher Tricia Grogan as part of her National Board Certification. Be sure to stop by and check them out!

Recently, Ms. Clark's and Mrs. Pierce's Intermediate Geometry high school classes traveled to Pieter B. to work on their math skills with Ms. Maroney and Ms. Sollien's classes, with a special pumpkin twist!! While carving pumpkins, the group talked about what solid geometry shape can be used to model a pumpkin. The high schoolers calculated the volume by finding the circumference and diameter using string as well as the density by weighing them. A great activity that exercised their communication and collaboration skills -- plus, they had a ton of fun, and the pumpkins are being used to decorate PBC!!!
