Principal's Update
May 21, 2025
Hello Panther Nation Families!
Here we are, a few weeks away from June. A few staff members were talking just the other day, saying how quickly the year has flown by. The saying, "the days are long, but the years are short," certainly seems to ring true the older I get.
While there are many exciting events taking place in the next few weeks, teachers are still in full teaching and learning mode. Thank you for your continued efforts getting your child to school on time each and every day. State NWEA testing in grades 2-5 just finished up (reports will go home with report cards) and teachers are into their final units to pull together all the learning from this school year.
I want to take a moment to thank our Dayton Community Club. They are instrumental each year in partnering with the school to bring fantastic events that our students experience. For example- offsetting the cost of the Sea Dogs trip, bringing Author Chris Van Dusen, Trunk or Treat, Movie Night, Teacher Appreciation, Book Fairs, Art Show, bounce house at Field Day and many, many more. It is a small group that meets each month (we would appreciate and love to have more join us) to plan and fundraise for these events. I am always so proud to share where I work and the incredible people I get to work with, including these volunteers. Thank you for helping to make the experience that much deeper for students at DCS!
Please keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming events (listed below). We are looking forward to having you join us as we wrap up another successful year at Dayton Consolidated School!
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Kim Sampietro, Principal

Summer Nutrition
Are you eligible to receive $120 for each of your school-aged child(ren)?
Many children face hunger during the summer when they lose access to school meals. This year, there are several ways to combat summer hunger, including Summer EBT SUN Bucks ($120 per school-aged child), open meal sites for those 18 and younger, free food distributions through Youth Full Maine, and delivery meal service for those in rural areas.
