School Hours

M, T, TH, F: 8:10-2:55

W: 8:10-2:30

What a week we have had! From ILEARN Checkpoint #1 ELA and Math testing and the start of quarter 2 at the beginning of the week to parent/teacher/student conferences, asynchronous learning, and our October Spirit Day to end the week. Whew!

We really enjoyed hosting conferences on Wednesday. It was great to meet with families to discuss all the progress students are making. Thank you for meeting with us.

Keep in mind that our school offices do not open until 7:00 a.m. each day. Students who are participating in clubs and other activities cannot be dropped off until that time. Thanks for your understanding.

Fall Break is here! Students will be on Fall Break from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 16. Students and staff return to the building on Monday, October 19. From now until after Spring Break, students are not permitted to wear shorts to school anymore.

We hope you all have a safe and relaxing Fall Break.

Ms. O'Brien

Medications Note from the Nurse Medications Note from the Nurse

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

If it becomes necessary for a student to take medication or receive treatment during the school day, the parent or guardian must file a request to administer with the school nurse’s office. If the medication or treatment is physician prescribed, the parent or guardian must provide a written prescription from the child’s physician or the current pharmacy label with the request. A physician’s order is also necessary for prescription samples that may have been provided to the student, or for any over-the-counter medication that is not recommended for children under age twelve. All other over-the-counter medication must be in the original container labeled with the student’s name and date of birth. Label instructions will be followed for all over-the-counter medicine unless otherwise prescribed by a physician. For any questions please call the clinic (317) 789-1441. Thank you!

Digital Safety Reminder: Recognizing Phishing and Scam Messages Digital Safety Reminder: Recognizing Phishing and Scam Messages

Perry Township Schools has recently seen several phishing and scam messages sent to staff and student email accounts. We are sharing this information with staff, students, and families so everyone knows what to watch for and what to do if they receive one.

Receiving a suspicious message does not mean your account has been compromised. However, it is important to pause and carefully review any unexpected email, text message, shared document, job opportunity, or request for money or personal information.

Common scams we are seeing include:
1. Fake student employment opportunities
These messages may appear to come from a familiar or trusted person and invite students to apply for a flexible, part-time job. The message then directs the recipient to complete a form, contact someone outside the district, or provide personal or financial information.

Perry Township teachers will not send unsolicited job offers or attempt to arrange employment for students through messages like these. Teachers primarily use district email to communicate about school-related matters. If a teacher shares a legitimate employment, internship, or work-based learning opportunity, it will be connected to an established school program and will not require students to provide banking information, send money, pay a deposit, or communicate with an unknown individual.

2. Items offered for sale
These messages may claim that someone is selling a vehicle, musical instrument, or other valuable item due to a move, family emergency, or death. The recipient is then asked to contact another person and submit a deposit electronically to hold the item.

3. Fraudulent document-sharing notifications
Scammers may use legitimate services, such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, to share a document that appears to involve a district employee or administrator. Carefully check the sender’s complete email address. A message may mention a trusted person while actually coming from an outside or unfamiliar account.

Warning signs to watch for:

  • An unexpected request to click a link or complete a form
  • A request for a password, banking information, verification code, or other personal information
  • An offer that seems unusually generous or urgent
  • A request to send money, purchase gift cards, pay a deposit, or use an electronic payment service
  • An unfamiliar email address, even when the sender’s name appears familiar
  • Awkward wording, unusual capitalization, or references to the district that do not sound normal
  • A warning that the sender is outside the Perry Township Schools organization

Please remember that a message can come from a real staff or student account that has been compromised. A familiar name alone does not make the message safe.

If you receive a suspicious message:
  • Do not click links, open attachments, reply, or provide information.
  • Do not send money, gift cards, deposits, or verification codes.
  • Verify the request through a separate, trusted method. For example, call the person using a phone number you already know, rather than one provided in the message, or if you received a message from a teacher, speak to that teacher the next day at school.
  • On any email you receive that is potentially suspicious, please report it as Spam. This can be found by clicking the three dots on the upper righthand corner of the email.

If you already responded or provided information:
  • Staff members: Change your district password immediately and contact Technology. Technology may also need to reset and re-enroll your Duo authentication.
  • Students: Tell a parent, guardian, teacher, counselor, or administrator. Students cannot change their own district passwords, so school or Technology staff will assist with securing the account.
  • Anyone who provided banking or payment information: Contact your bank or card issuer immediately using the verified phone number on the back of your card or on the institution’s official website. Explain what information was shared and follow the bank’s instructions.
  • If you reused the same password on a personal account, change that password directly through the account’s official website or app.
Scammers rely on urgency, trust, and embarrassment. Please ensure you are taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your digital privacy safe.

Thank you for helping us keep our students, staff, and families safe online.

Reporting Student Absences: Call the attendance line at 317-789-1402 before 9:00 a.m, to report your child's absence. When leaving a message, please leave your child's date of birth and your phone number to ensure we have the message for the appropriate student.

Tardies: When your child is tardy to school, they can be dropped off in front of the building. Please report to this to Student Services at 317-789-1462. Parents/guardians must present a valid ID when picking up your student.
