Principal's Message

We would like to express our gratitude for your continued support and commitment to the success of our students at LVJH. While we have many achievements to celebrate, I would like to address an area that requires our collective attention – student attendance.

A strong attendance record is not only a key indicator of academic success but also plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Regular school attendance is a shared responsibility, and I believe that by working together, we can significantly enhance the attendance rates of our students.

Here are a few ways in which we can collaborate to improve attendance:

  • Emphasize the Importance- Talk to your child about the importance of attending school regularly. Highlight how consistent attendance contributes to their academic progress and overall success.

  • Communication is Key - Keep the lines of communication open with the school. If your child is unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances, please notify us as soon as possible. We are here to support you and your child.

  • Celebrate Attendance Achievements - Recognize and celebrate your child's good attendance. Positive reinforcement can motivate them to maintain regular attendance habits. We are also working on some exciting incentives for great attendance.

  • Address Barriers - If there are specific challenges or barriers preventing your child from attending school regularly, please reach out to us. We are committed to working together to find solutions that support your child's attendance.

Thank you for your dedication to the success of our students. We look forward to a positive and productive partnership in fostering improved attendance and creating a vibrant learning environment for all.

Stay warm and Go Bears!

Valentine's Day Valentine's Day

zoom_out_map

Valentine's Day is coming up soon, and with it comes the annual surge of flower, balloon and cookie deliveries to students. While we appreciate the thoughts behind these expressions of love from family and friends, the number and size of these gifts cause a significant disruption to our learning environment. In addition, the transportation department cannot allow students with balloons, glass vases or large bouquets of flowers on the bus for safety reasons. As a result, we ask that our parents and students please refrain from sending Valentine's gifts like these to school.

Junior High Food Drive Junior High Food Drive

Our school is proud to announce that we are a National School of Caring. We have partnered with

Souper Bowl of Caring to create a unique opportunity for our students to join in a national movement of

giving and serving.

During the weeks of January 29 through February 8, students will collect donations in their 1st period class and participate in this service project. 100% of the collection will be donated to the local La Vernia Food Pantry. Your child will grow in understanding how important it is to serve our community.

We are asking all parents to assist their children with participation by donating any of the following:

□ Canned Goods, Cereal, Dry Goods, and any non perishable food items

Our school district is encouraging all students to join in as a drop box will be available at the Primary campus and the Intermediate is also hosting the food drive. Our La Vernia Junior High food drive is being organized by NJHS and Student Council. We truly appreciate your support.
