Students with both lawful and unlawful absences will be referred to the Multi-Tier Support Services Team (MTSS).
Students may be permitted one mental health day per semester. Written notification from the parent/guardian is sufficient documentation. The student must be allowed to make up missed assignments. Teachers may exempt or modify make-up assignments. Use Absence Reason Code - MH

School Lunch Reminder
MySchool Bucks
Remember to add lunch money in your student's My School Bucks account for lunch. Only students who qualify for free and reduced lunch will be given free lunch this year. The "free lunch for all" model that was implemented last year, will not continue this school year.
Weekly Lunch Selections
Please continue to review the monthly lunch menu with your scholar to ensure your scholar will eat the posted selections.
Principal Lunch Account
Please note that scholars can use the Principal lunch account for emergency purposes only. This is when they forget to bring money or when they unknowingly don't have money in their lunch account.
Parents are to reimburse the Principal's lunch account for applicable money spent. Scholars that use the account multiple times and have not repaid will not be allowed to use the Principal's account thereafter.
HOMEWORK (REMINDER)
Homework should be assigned nightly, Monday through Thursday. It should be given in the content areas of reading and math. Other subject areas may assign homework on an as needed basis.
The purpose for assigning homework is to give scholars the opportunity to extend lessons, practice skills, engage in critical thinking and develop good work habits. Homework can also serve as one form of communication between the teacher and the family. It is important that homework does not add stress to family life.
Lastly, scholars should be assigned to read via MyON every night.
MYON Reading challenge Update
1st Place: 6th Grade - 2,378 minutes read
2nd Place: 2nd grade - 1,794 minutes read
3rd Place: 3rd grade - 1,465 minutes read

5th Grade - 1,359 minutes read
8th Grade - 965 minutes read

Please encourage your child to read up to 2 hour per night. This is a great resource while kids are riding in the car, etc.
School Wide Management Plan Reminder
Grades 3-8 scholars are not permitted to eat their snacks during class/outside of their lunch period, under any circumstance.
No hoodies are allowed to be worn during class. All scholars must wear a red, blue, or black sweater or something of the like without a hood.
