Chamberlin Hill Highlights
April 2026
A Note from the Principal
Spring is here, and we are heading into a busy and exciting time of year! As we move closer to the end of the school year, there are many important events coming up, including Ohio State Testing (OST), special activities, and opportunities to get involved. Be sure to check out the list of key dates below so you don’t miss a thing!
This month, students will be taking their Ohio State Tests in ELA, Math, and Science (Grade 5 only). While these tests are important, we want to ensure students feel prepared—not anxious. You can help your child do their best by:
✔️ Getting a good night’s sleep before each test day
🥣 Providing a healthy breakfast to fuel their brain
🗣️ Having positive conversations about the test—encourage them to try their best without stress 📚 Encouraging good study habits and reading at home
💨 Helping them relax—deep breaths, stretching, and breaks from screens can help ease nerves
Your support at home makes a big difference!
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser last month! We are thrilled to share that we sold 278 boxes. The funds raised will help provide exciting opportunities for our students, and we truly appreciate your support. As a friendly reminder, if you still have candy bar money to turn in, please do so as soon as possible. We are unable to order prizes or schedule our Deal or No Deal event until all funds have been collected, and we know our students are eager for the prizes!
Another exciting event happening this month is our Chick-fil-A Night on April 8th from 4:30-7:00 PM. The top three finalists in our Big Shake competition will be working alongside Chick-fil-A employees, and a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated back to our students in the form of scholarships! We encourage all Chamberlin Hill families to join us for a fun evening of food and support for our students!
We are thankful for the strong partnership we share in supporting your child’s success. As always, please reach out if there is anything we can do to help.

Notes from the Office
Attendance
In March, Grade 3 and Grade 5 saw their attendance rise, which is fantastic! Way to go!
Consistent attendance matters. Students who attend regularly are more connected, more confident, and more successful academically. Thank you to our families for partnering with us to make school attendance a priority. It truly makes a difference! Let’s keep the momentum going, Trojans!
How to Report Attendance
Phone
Call 1-844-305-3755 to report absences by 9am.
You must call using the phone number on file in Final Forms in order to be connected to your child(ren). If you need to update your phone number, please do so within Final Forms.School Messenger App
Report absences within the School Messenger app.
Transportation
If you need to change transportation for the day, you must call the office before 2:15 pm. Otherwise, we may not be able to get a message to the teacher and your student in time to make a change.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Time is precious for us all but even more important is the safety of our children. Thank you for continuing to follow our procedures and helping us keep everyone safe and on schedule!
🚙 Please continue to use the designated car lines for both drop-off and pick-up. This ensures a smooth flow of traffic and keeps students safely away from moving vehicles. The West Parking Lot should not be utilized for drop off or pick up.
🚧 Students may not cross the staff parking lot or grass area between Yates Avenue and Chamberlin Hill. These areas are not monitored for student crossing and pose serious safety risks.
⏩ Morning Drop-Off Tip to Keep the Line Moving:
To help everyone get inside quickly and safely:
-
Pull all the way forward in the drop-off line before your child exits.
-
Students can safely exit your vehicle anywhere along the school's half-circle drive and use the sidewalk to reach the entry door.
-
The more students who unload at once, the faster our entire line moves!
Your cooperation and patience make a big difference each day. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe, efficient, and stress-free for everyone!

PaySchools
Now that we are into the second quarter of the school year, it’s a good time to check out the balance and notification settings on your family’s PaySchools (lunch & fees!) account, and make sure your Free/Reduced Lunch application is completed within PaySchools if you haven’t completed it already.
PaySchools does not automatically alert you to a low balance or negative balance on lunch accounts unless you activate that setting.
You can easily activate notifications, and also set your account to automatically replenish once it hits a threshold of your choosing.
As always, you can avoid any convenience fees for online payments by coming to the school and paying via check or cash to the building secretary. If you have any questions regarding meal accounts or PaySchools, please contact Kadie Lindsey, klindsey@findlaycityschools.org.
Building Vocabulary Goal - Celebrating Our Success
Our Chamberlin Hill students have worked hard to increase their number of mastered vocabulary words. Each student set a personal goal and used the Amplify vocabulary program at least three days a week to achieve it. With guidance from their teachers, students tracked their own progress, earning and hanging paper “medals” in the hall to show off their accomplishments. Students were awarded special incentives along the way as well.
We are thrilled to celebrate all of our students, especially our top achievers! The students who mastered the most words in each grade level will be receiving a book token and a special treat from Mrs. Zaciewski!
Top Students by Grade Level:
- Grade 3: Bodhi J.
- Grade 4: Dylan P.
- Grade 5: Claire R.
Congratulations to all students for their hard work and dedication to building their vocabulary!
PBIS Update
The PBIS Team at Chamberlin Hill has continued to build strong momentum throughout this school year. As a staff, we have made great gains working collaboratively to establish and maintain clear, consistent expectations across all settings. Our team has remained committed to a school-wide system that promotes and reinforces positive, pro-social behaviors. While these foundational Tier 1 practices are firmly in place and a clear strength of our building, we continue to refine our approach and look for ways to make our systems even more effective and responsive to student needs.
One of the tools we use to monitor our progress and guide our next steps is the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI). We have completed the TFI in previous years and will do so again this spring. The results consistently affirm what we see every day, Chamberlin Hill has a strong Tier 1 PBIS framework in place, supported by a dedicated staff and students who understand and demonstrate our expectations.
As we move forward, our focus will be on maintaining the strength of our Tier 1 systems while continuing to build and strengthen our Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. This includes expanding targeted interventions and ensuring we are effectively identifying and supporting students who may need additional structure or guidance. We are proud of the work we have accomplished and remain committed to growing as a school community that prioritizes positive behavior, recognizes student success, and supports all learners in developing the skills they need for long-term success.
March Incentives
March was full of excitement at Chamberlin Hill as we celebrated our students’ amazing behaviors! So far this year, our Trojan Tokens have been flying. Over 6,800 tokens have been earned by students showing respect, responsibility, and safe behaviors.
Last month, the spotlight was on Chocolate Pudding Pictionary, our big PBIS reward event. Students who had earned 6 or more Trojan Tokens got to join in, and let’s just say… the laughter was contagious! Even the adults couldn’t resist diving in. It was a sweet reminder that positive behavior makes our school a fun and supportive place for everyone.
