SPCS Remembers September 11, 2001
On Friday, September 11th, our students, teachers, and staff gathered together in the courtyard for a beautiful and prayerful remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. As a school community, we paused to honor the innocent lives that were lost, the families who were forever changed, and the brave first responders and everyday heroes who showed extraordinary courage and selflessness that day.
For many of our students, September 11th is a moment in history that happened long before they were born. It is important that we help them understand not only the sadness of that day, but also the incredible faith, compassion, unity, and love for one another that followed. During our service, we prayed together, raised our American flag, and joined our voices in singing “God Bless America.” It was truly moving to see our students standing together so respectfully in remembrance.
September 11th reminds us of how precious life is and how important it is to care for one another. As people of faith, we are called to be instruments of God’s peace, especially in times of sadness, fear, and uncertainty. We pray that our students will carry forward the lessons of that day by choosing kindness, showing compassion, helping those in need, and bringing Christ’s light into the world.
May God grant eternal rest to all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, bring comfort to their families, and continue to bless and protect all those who serve our communities and our country.
Have a blessed week ahead.

Back to School Night!
Thank you to all the families who came out to Back to School Night last Thursday. It was great seeing everyone. If you did not attend, please check your child's folder this week for a few important papers that were passed out.
- Family Survey: Please take some time to fill out the family survey that was in the envelope. This survey is extremely important as it determines the amount of Title 1 Funding our school receives each year. Please know that all the information you provide is confidential.
- PowerSchool: Parent/guardian login information sheet was provided for all families. This sheet will give you the necessary information to give you access to the platform we use for grading. It will allow you to see everything from test/quiz scores, assignments, projects, etc. It is a great way for you to stay up to date at home on how your child is doing at school. I STRONGLY encourage all families to sign up.
- Title 1 Permission for Services: If your child qualifies for Title 1 services a permission form was sent home. Please sign and return the form to school ASAP so the paperwork can be processed to get the services moving along. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
