Actuarial Science and Programming Camps
for your technically-inclined students who want to explore actuarial science or computer programming
An actuary uses mathematical and financial tools to help identify and manage risk, so it's a great career for students who are mathematically strong but not necessarily interested in teaching. For more than 30 years we've run a one-week residential summer camp for rising high school seniors to help them decide if they want to pursue actuarial work. More recently, my colleague Stephanie Blanda began offering a programming/AI camp.
This message has four links. The first two point to pages where students can apply for the camps, and the latter two allow people to RSVP for virtual information sessions about the actuarial profession and the camps. The information sessions are open to students, parents, teachers, and anyone else who’s interested.

Dartmouth is hosting first-ever Jumpstart Your College Application for juniors
On Thursday, April 2, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. ET, we’ll be hosting our first-ever Jumpstart Your College Application event for juniors. We invite you to attend!
Dartmouth Admissions Officers will host a live virtual workshop to introduce your students to the college application and holistic admissions processes at highly selective schools. We want to encourage students to kick-off their college search with confidence and purpose.
Will you please share this link with high-achieving students, especially those who may not think a highly selective institution like Dartmouth is within reach? During the workshop, we will address common misconceptions about the admissions process and introduce Dartmouth’s fly-in programs. We hope to extend this invitation to as many promising first-generation, low-income students as possible.
Carolyn Yee, Admissions Officer
