If your child missed picture day or wasn’t happy with their photo, there’s an opportunity for a retake. Please let your teacher know by Monday so we can ensure your child gets their picture taken. Picture retakes will be on Friday morning.

Our Parent & Teacher Conferences are coming up! This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and collaborate with teachers. A Sign-Up Genius link will be emailed soon to schedule your meeting.

We have added two new sign boards around the school to help keep students safe and on schedule. The first sign outlines important bike rules and reminds students to walk their bike on school grounds. The second reminds parents to walk their students inside when dropping them off. We appreciate your support in following these guidelines to help our school routines run smoothly.

Help our school earn a $2,500 grant by becoming a member of the ABC/25 Foundation. Ivy Hill needs just 40 more families to join to meet our goal and receive this grant!

Become a member by October 17th, and your child(ren) will be entered into a drawing to win a ride to school with the Arlington Heights Police Department!

We are so grateful for all of the health forms that have already been submitted—thank you for your support! As a gentle reminder, if your child is a kindergarten student or a new student to Ivy Hill this year, we kindly ask that a completed physical exam be provided at your earliest convenience.

Every day that your child is not in school, is late or is leaving early the office needs to know!! There are three ways to notify us and they are available 24 hours a day!

1. Our GOOGLE FORM - just write in the information - you don't have to talk to anyone!

2. Our ATTENDANCE HOT LINE - Just call 847-398-4275 (the main number) and press 1 - leave us a message.

3. Email office - ihoffice@sd25.org

If you don't call, we are required to call you so PLEASE remember to call your child in absent, late or leaving early!!

We want every student to get home safely and smoothly, and your help makes a big difference! If your child’s usual dismissal plans change—for example, being picked up by someone different, walking home instead of taking the bus, or any other change—in addition to emailing your child's teacher, please email the school office at ihoffice@sd25.org.

Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop! With your support, dismissal can be calm, organized, and as joyful as the start of the day.

October is Polish American Heritage Month! We celebrate the traditions, culture, and contributions of Polish Americans and the ways they’ve shaped our communities.

October is Italian American Heritage Month! We honor the culture, traditions, and achievements of Italian Americans and their impact on our communities.

Yom Kippur, also called the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It is a time for reflection, prayer, and making amends for the past year. People observe Yom Kippur through fasting, attending synagogue services, and seeking forgiveness. It begins at sunset and ends the following evening.

Columbus Day is observed on October 14, marking the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492. This day is a part of our nation’s history and heritage.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is observed on October 14 to honor the history, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. It is a time to recognize their important role in our communities and history.

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by millions around the world. It is a time of joy, family gatherings, and spreading light and positivity. Diwali also symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
