President's Message
Dear Members of Alpha Epsilon
This year is an historic one for us in our society and for our country. As we listen and learn from one another and our guests at our chapter meetings, let us be aware that there is, in the background, an historical clock ticking that makes us aware of a larger community we belong to. It can have a major impact on the quality of our daily and future lives if we really think about our leverage. Our society’s 7 purposes should guide us in our decisions to be voters and activists in the coming year. Just think about what we stand for:
- an open spiritual fellowship
- a distinctive service in education that is honorable
- professional interest and positions in education by women
- legislation that advances the professional interest of women educators
- scholarships to aid women in graduate studies in addition to grant fellowships
- personal and professional growth in appropriate programs of action for women and education
- informative economic, social, political, and educational positions that help members participate in efforts for the greater good of society.
Just consider what is at stake in our way of life, our families, our communities and our country. Our society is a part of it all, just a small integral part, but a significant one. Please act, vote and do what you believe is in the best interest of all.
