Good Morning, Bobcat Families!

We hope the school year is off to a strong and successful start for your family and students. At Battlefield, we remain committed to continuous improvement—reflecting, refining, and revising our practices to best support both the academic growth and social-emotional well-being of every student.

We appreciate your partnership as we implement the PWCS Cell Phone Policy. While we’re seeing positive progress, this remains a work in progress. With your continued support, we’re confident our students will better understand both the expectations and the purpose behind the policy. Additionally, we kindly ask that students refrain from bringing personal laptops, tablets, or similar devices to school. If these items are brought, they must be stored securely in lockers along with cell phones.

To streamline our attendance process, Battlefield has introduced a Tardy Kiosk system. Students can now scan their school ID, enter their school email, or use the QR code on StudentVUE (this is the one approved instance for cell phone use during the school day). To support this, we’ve provided lanyards for students to keep their IDs easily accessible. While use of the school-issued lanyard is optional, having IDs visible adds an extra layer of safety—our top priority.

We also encourage families to regularly check ParentVUE and maintain open communication with teachers. Your engagement plays a vital role in your student’s success.

If you believe Battlefield High School is the best high school in the state, then I encourage you to enter the VA Lottery's "Teachers' Lounge Makeover." The link to enter is below and the deadline is October 3. Let's show Virginia Battlefield's Bobcat Pride!

Teachers Lounge Makeover

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!

Warm regards,

Principal Lucas

Transcript SAT/ACT Score Opt Out

Regulations governing secondary school transcripts mandate that local school divisions include

Parents and other persons with legal custody may elect to have their student’s test records excluded from the student’s secondary school transcript. This decision, referred to as an “Opt Out” excludes both SAT and ACT scores from the student’s transcript. Please note that when opting out, parents/guardians assume responsibility for ensuring the appropriate testing organization sends the official score report to the college(s) of choice. Postsecondary institutions generally prefer receiving score reports directly from the testing organization.

Parents/Guardians of seniors who do not want their child’s SAT and ACT scores to appear on their high school transcript must complete the “Transcript SAT/ACT Opt Out” in the ‘Notices, Consents, and Acknowledgements’ section of the Back To School Packet to make their wishes known
