Student Expectations Student Expectations

Papers should have been signed and returned to your child's teacher.

Dear Families-

As the end of your child’s elementary year quickly approaches, we have many exciting and memorable events scheduled! Students who are doing the right thing and treating people right, at all times, will be able to participate in the end of the year activities.

With the approval from Principal McGee, we would like to inform you that if your child fails to meet the expectations listed below, this will result in the loss of participating in our end of the year celebrations.

Student expectation to participate in the end of year activities…

  1. Making 90% and above on the scoreboard sheet

    1. Attend school in school uniform! (We understand illness does come, but please let your teacher know if your child is absent.)

    2. Follow behavior expectations

    3. Assignments are completed and turned in

    4. Chromebooks charged and brought back daily

  2. Cellphones are to be powered off and in backpacks throughout the school day.

Students who do not follow these expectations will have a meeting with their teacher and parent about the possibility of not participating in these fun celebrations!

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

"School success starts with attendance"

Attendance matters not only to us teachers, but it is imperative for your child. We strive for success of our students. As a reward of reaching a monthly goal of 95% attendance, we would like to reward our students with a treat and exciting activity! Please make sure your child gets to school on time ready to grow and learn! Thank you in advance for helping us achieve this monthly goal! We appreciate you.

5th Grade Goal Getters

Our students recently wrapped up NWEA for the beginning of a new year. We had our students review their scores and make a SMART goal. This goal is an achievable goal that they will reach before next NWEA this winter.

5th Grade Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read our 5th grade newsletter. We will continue to send out our newsletters weekly. This is a great way for our grade level to keep parents up to date with what is going on in our 5th grade classrooms.

Chromebooks

We have distributed Chromebooks earlier last week. Please be sure chromebooks are charged the night before school and should be brought back every day. This is your child's responsibility! We will be using chromebooks daily with our curriculum.

Daily Schedule

** Please remember to be on time. School day is from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

** Any changes to transportation must be made prior to 2:00 pm. Thank you so much!

Uniforms and Snacks

Please remember to have your child come ready to learn. This means to be on time and in uniform. We are not allowed to have students wear hoodies. This is due to a safety concern. A sweater and jacket (no hood) are allowed in the classroom.

We eat lunch super late this year. Your child is allowed to bring in a healthy snack with a water bottle. Please refrain from anything such as chips, candy, sports drinks and juice.

THANK YOU FOR READING ALL THE WAY THROUGH

Please tell your child that they are able to receive five cardinal cash from their teacher. Tell them the code phrase is APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS. Please have your child write down what it means to be patient. How can you show patience towards yourself, your friends, family, teacher? This will be our character trait for the month! We will reward them for you reading our newsletter.
