Hello Panther Families!
What an amazing first two days of school we've had!
Our students have done a wonderful job settling into their new classrooms, meeting new friends, learning routines, and embracing all the excitement that comes with a new school year!
Over the past two days, I've seen classrooms filled with smiles, curiosity, kindness, and joy. Our teachers have focused on building strong relationships, teaching expectations, and creating welcoming environments where every child feels valued, supported, and loved. Most importantly, our students have already begun to feel what we want every child to know: they belong here and they matter.
Mrs. Wilson and I are excited to continue one of our favorite back-to-school traditions this week by visiting every classroom to share a read-aloud. Today, we read The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School with our kindergarten students, a beloved tradition that always brings lots of smiles and excitement as students begin their school adventure.
We also read (and will read) The North Star by Peter Reynolds with our students in grades 1-5. The book shares a powerful message about discovering your own path, celebrating who you are, and understanding that everyone is on a different journey. Just as travelers use the North Star to help guide them, we want our students to know that they each have unique strengths, dreams, and destinations. There is no single path to success, and our hope is that every child will grow in confidence as they discover and follow their own "North Star" throughout the year.
The first days of school can bring a mix of excitement and nerves, but our students have shown tremendous courage, flexibility, and enthusiasm. We couldn't be more proud of how they have started the year.
Thank you for partnering with us and entrusting us with your children each day. Your support helps make our school community such a special place. Together, we are building a foundation for a year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and success.
We are excited to continue the momentum and keep the good times rolling throughout the year! We look forward to sharing many wonderful moments and accomplishments with you in the months ahead.
Thank you for helping make our first two days such a tremendous success. We truly believe this is going to be our best year yet!
From your proudest panther,
Amy Lemons
Principal
