Welcome back, Wilton families!

The start of a new school year brings renewed energy to our hallways. It has been wonderful to see students reconnect with friends and staff, settle into routines, and become engaged in their classes and activities.

As we begin the year, families can help students build strong habits that support success at school. The transition to a new school year often includes schedule changes, new expectations, and increased responsibilities. Establishing consistent routines at home can help students feel prepared, organized, and confident.

Helping Your Student Succeed

Families can support student success by encouraging the following habits:

  • Attend school regularly. Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Please encourage your student to attend school each day and contact the school when an absence is necessary.

  • Arrive on time. Being on time allows students to begin the day calmly and be prepared for learning.

  • Create a designated homework space. A quiet, well-lit area with needed supplies can help students focus and complete assignments.

  • Establish evening routines. Set regular times for homework, dinner, personal responsibilities, and bedtime. Consistent routines help students get enough rest and arrive ready to learn.

  • Check the student planner. Encourage your student to record assignments, deadlines, reminders, and other important information. Reviewing the planner together can help students stay organized.

  • Check Infinite Campus. Families should regularly review Infinite Campus for grades, assignments, attendance, and tardies. This is a helpful way to stay informed about your student’s progress.

  • Encourage communication. Remind students to ask teachers questions when they need help and to communicate when they are unsure about an assignment or expectation.

  • Prepare for the next day. Packing backpacks and organizing materials the night before can make mornings less stressful.

We know that the beginning of school can bring adjustments for students and families. Thank you for partnering with us and extending grace as everyone settles into the year. If questions or concerns arise, please reach out to your student’s teachers or the school. We are here to help.

September Early-Release Dates

Wilton Public School will have early-release days on:

  • Friday, September 4

  • Friday, September 18

Students will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. on both dates. A shortened Early Release Day schedule is available in Infinite Campus.

Athletic practices, events, and other after-school activities for Grades 5-12 will begin at their regularly scheduled times of 3:30 p.m. or later. Students participating in activities should make appropriate arrangements for the time between dismissal and the start of their activity.

We are excited for a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, and opportunities for every student. My door is always open, and I encourage families to reach out with questions, concerns, or ideas. Thank you for being an important part of the Wilton Public School community!
