Elle Dawson: State Championship Runner-Up!
Ragsdale Athletics is thrilled to extend a heartfelt congratulations to freshman Elle Dawson for her outstanding achievement at the 4A NCHSAA State Championship held this past Saturday at Ivey Redmon Park. Elle captured a remarkable second-place finish with an impressive time of 18:02.74, narrowly trailing Asheville’s Sofi Alexander, who took first place with a time of 18:01.23.
This incredible performance at the state level is a testament to Elle’s hard work, determination, and talent, especially considering she is just a freshman. Her success does not stop there; she has also been crowned the champion of the Guilford County Schools Championship and won the 4A Metro Championship, solidifying her status as one of the top competitors in her division.
First-year head coach Carley Cook has done an exceptional job guiding the team in her first season as the head coach. We appreciate your hard work with our athletes and look forward to watching the team grow under your leadership.
Elle’s remarkable accomplishments not only reflect her individual talent but also highlight the strength of the Ragsdale cross-country program under Coach Cook’s leadership. As a young athlete making waves in the sport, Elle’s future looks bright, and her journey is just beginning.
Ragsdale Athletics encourages the community to celebrate Elle’s achievements and support all of our student-athletes as they strive for excellence in their respective sports.

Ragsdale Athletics is thrilled to announce the Ragsdale Men's Soccer Team secured an exhilarating victory last night in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs. The team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, defeating Mount Tabor High School with a final of 2-1.
In an exciting finish, Ragsdale scored two goals in the last 7 minutes of the match, including the decisive goal by Owen Justice with just under a minute left in regulation. This incredible display of tenacity and skill allowed Ragsdale to secure their spot in the next round of the NCHSAA playoffs, highlighting the hard work and dedication of our talented athletes and coaching staff, led by Coach Braswell.
The team will travel to Watauga High School for their next match on Tuesday, 11/12, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 PM.
We invite you and Tiger fans and community members to come out and support our team as they continue their journey in the playoffs.
