Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Greetings from the office. I hope that this message finds you doing well and enjoying your early Spring! Thanks to all of the parent volunteers who helped during our April Field Day Shorts event and the parents who participated in the kindergarten Math Day last Friday. It was great to see so many parents enjoying these special events. We couldn't do it without you!
Today, we begin our PSSA State testing in grades 3, 4 & 5. Our students and teachers have been diligently preparing and practicing for the test, and I can say with confidence that our students are ready to show us what they know. Even though our teachers do their very best to keep spirits up during testing, this test can sometimes create nervousness in our students. Here's what you can do at home to help your child during testing:
Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep
Arrive to school on time
Be sure to provide a healthy breakfast or encourage your child to grab a breakfast at school
Encourage your child to take their time and do their best
Reassure your child that the information on this test, is content that they have already learned
The test does not contain trick questions
Encourage your child to check their work
Thank you for your support at home. I know that our students will work hard and do their best! This week, we test ELA on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Next week, we test Math on Tuesday & Wednesday. Only fifth grade students will test in Science on Thursday and Friday.
If you have any questions regarding PSSA testing , please send me an email or give me a call.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Hadfield
