WILDCAT CONNECTION NEWSLETTER

In accordance with Board Policies 5145.7 (Sexual Harassment), 5145.9 (Hate-Motivated Behaviors), 5131.2 (Bullying Prevention), 5142.52 (Suicide Prevention), and 3513.3/5131.6/5131.63 (Tobacco & Drug Prevention), students will review key procedures and processes to support a safe and welcoming environment this year. For additional information regarding these requirements, parents/guardians/caretakers can consult the Parent Guidelines. In September and October, parents will have the opportunity to learn more about these topics via LBUSD’s Parent University (more information to come).

We hope you have had a safe and enjoyable summer! We've missed you. We have been preparing the school and the classrooms anticipating your arrival!

*TK/Kinder: 9:00am - 2:00pm (until 9/13/24);

Starting 9/16/24: TK/Kinder: 9:00am - 3:00pm

1st-3rd Grade: 9:00am - 3:05pm

4th-5th Grade: 9:00am - 3:10pm

EVERY THURSDAY:

Identification Required for Early Pick-Up of Students

Parents/Guardians will be required to show identification to pick their students up early from campus. *Please Note: TK/Kinder students must be picked up by an adult and cannot be released to a sibling.

There are no animals allowed on campus.

"PAPERLESS" School!:

For those new to our school, Webster is a "paperless" school, and has been for several years now! Any communications to parents, including our monthly newsletter, are sent via e-mail using 'School Messenger' (with a few exceptions). Teachers are also sent the same communication to keep everyone in the loop! Please keep your e-mail and contact information up-to-date, and help us in our continuous efforts in helping the environment.

Breakfast and lunch served FREE to ALL students!

Due to the increase of classroom interruptions. ALL ITEMS dropped off at the school office for Webster students, will be held in the office to await pick up without a call to disturb the classroom.

If you must drop off any item to your child during the school day, please plan accordingly by making arrangements with your child BEFORE the start of the school day to retrieve the item(s) at their recess or lunch breaks. The office will not be held accountable or responsible for items dropped off and not picked up.

Items include, but are not limited to:
Lunch/snacks, instruments, jackets/sweaters, water bottle, house keys, cell phones, backpacks, projects, permission slips, homework, books, schools supplies, etc.

**Students will have access to a school lunch, please encourage them to consume the meal provided at school if they have forgotten or misplaced lunch from home.

***Outside food dropoffs/deliveries will NOT be permitted.

Debido al aumento de las interrupciones en las aulas. TODOS LOS ARTÍCULOS que les dejen a los estudiantes de Webster se mantendrán en la oficina a la espera de ser recogidos sin una llamada para perturbar el salón de clases. To clear your child(s) absences, you have 5 days to clear the absence. Below are available options:

1. send a note (medical or personal) with your student to submit to their teacher
2. drop off the note in the black attendance bin on the office counter
3. call in your child(s) absence

PBIS Mission Statement

Webster is a community that fosters student achievement through an environment of high expectations, collaboration, and P.R.I.D.E. in every Wildcat. Students are supported in attaining academic, behavioral, and social emotional success in a safe and nurturing environment in order to prepare our scholars to become adaptive, empathetic, and productive citizens.

Webster es una comunidad que fomenta el rendimiento estudiantil a través de un ambiente de altas expectativas, colaboración y P.R.I.D.E en cada Wildcat. We have a PBIS committee that has been working behind the scenes to improve the school community for our students. What does PBIS stand for? Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a schoolwide systems approach aimed at establishing positive student culture and individualized behavior supports necessary to create a safe and effective learning environment for all students. Please see our mission statement and guidelines for success below as well as location expectations linked here. We are reteaching expectations for different areas around the school. These will be our expectations again in the fall and will be retaught once more at that time. We are excited to be able to provide this consistency across grade levels for all students as we move forward.

Tenemos un comité de PBIS que ha estado trabajando detras de las escenas para mejorar la comunidad escolar para nuestros estudiantes. ¿Qué significa PBIS? Las intervenciones y apoyos conductuales positivos (PBIS, por sus siglas en inglés) es un enfoque de sistemas en toda la escuela destinado a establecer una cultura estudiantil positiva y los apoyos conductuales individualizados necesarios para crear un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y eficaz para todos los estudiantes.
