Friday Updates
February 21, 2025
From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
The weather this week, along with the observance of Presidents’ Day Monday, meant a short two days in sessions with the kids. Although this is never the ideal week for the school, I am always thankful for the time that we were able to come together and learn.
With the number of snow days taken this year, however, we will be 3.25 hours too few to meet our hours requirement for the school year. This equates to about half of a school day. Therefore, there will need to be some adjustments to the school calendar to accommodate that missed time. We will announce those changes over spring break when the likelihood of any further cancellations drop significantly.
Believe it or not, next week will be the end of February. That means there are two short weeks of the third quarter remaining. I encourage you to talk with your students about their progress this quarter and follow up with their classroom teacher with any questions. Though there are no formal Spring Conferences at SHS, you may make an appointment with your student’s teacher if you feel there is anything you would like to discuss.
Ash Wednesday is also right around the corner. Have you talked with your students about different ways they might fast, give alms, or engage in prayer during this time of preparation? Having a conversation with your child about lent or making a plan as a family is a great way to engage in your faith with your child.
With Faith & Hope,
Patrick (P.J.) Greer

Every Jubilee entails that Pilgrimage is a journey quest for meaning in life. There will
