A Message from Mr. Demers A Message from Mr. Demers

Dear DRRHS Families,

It has been a great start to November here at DRRHS. Though the days are shorter they are certainly chock full of amazing activity here on 2700 Regional Road. Here are a few of the highlights as we move closer to the full fledged holiday season:

  • Both the girls and boys soccer teams competed strongly in the MIAA State Tournament. Congratulations to all of our fall sports as the season moves to an end. We are excited to see all the success that will come during our winter season.

  • The DRRHS Theatre Company continues to work tirelessly as they prepare for their production of Little Women. The performances will be on the 20th and 21st of November in the auditorium at 6:30PM. We hope you can join us!

  • Tonight is the annual DRRHS Homecoming Dance! This is a fantastic tradition here at the high school and we look forward to a great night for all of our Falcons!

As you can see November is shaping up to be a great month!

In closing, all of us here at DRRHS would like to wish a happy Veteran’s Day to all those in our community who have served our country. Thank you for your service and know you are appreciated.

With Falcon Pride,

Dustin Demers

Phone/Earbud/Headphone Usage DRRHS Phone/Earbud/Headphone Usage DRRHS

Please note that the district wide cell phone/electronic device policy will be strictly enforced this year. Please review the policy:

District Electronic Device Policy

The term “electronic devices,” includes but is not limited to cell phones, iPads/tablets, laptops/computers (other than those issued by the District), electronic/smart devices, and headphones/airpods. The expectation is that these personal devices remain off and away during the school day. Staff may require students to store phones in a centralized location. The only exception is at the high school, where students are permitted to use their phones during transition time in the hallway between classes and during lunch. High school students are not allowed to use their phones during class time, or when out of the classroom during class time (i.e., bathroom breaks). Students remain solely responsible for any loss or damage to any electronic devices used or brought onto school property. Use of electronic devices at school are subject to the District’s Acceptable Use Policy and any applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to M.G.L. c. 272, sec. 99, which is sometimes known as the Massachusetts Wiretapping Law.

Discipline Progression for Violation of Electronics Policy

  1. Warning

  2. Office Detention

  3. Office Detention/Confiscation of Phone for Day

  4. Habitual: Parent Contact/Phone Turned in at the Beginning of the Day

*This goes for all technology*

A student's exemplary academic standing or disciplinary record have no bearing on the assignment of a Saturday School in the case of five or more attendance points being accrued over the course of one quarter of the school year.

School begins at 7:17AM. Any student arriving at 7:17 or later will be considered tardy for that day.

Chromebooks Chromebooks

All Chromebooks should be charged and ready for each school day. Outside devices are not permitted, only school issued Chromebooks can be used at DRRHS during the school day.

The school has a limited number of loaner chromebooks and priority is to those students whose chromebooks are being fixed. Please remember that students should be bringing in fully charged chromebooks to school every day with charging cords.

Career Day at New England Institute of Technology

Our Juniors and Seniors in Automotive were invited to a Career day at NEIT on Friday November 7th. There they had the opportunity to explore different aspects of the Automotive field available to them upon graduation. They also toured the school and visited all the trades. They met the instructors and got a feel for what their day would be like if they chose to attend after graduation.
