A Message from Mrs. Hemmann
Fall Updates from Ms. Hemmann:
As the fall season settles in, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude and excitement for the wonderful work happening in our building. We are enjoying these warm fall days and looking forward to all the celebrations that come with this time of year, including homecoming and fall festivities. These events bring our students, families, and staff together in ways that strengthen our school community.
One of the greatest benefits we are experiencing this year is the power of in-person instruction. Having our students in the classroom each day provides rich opportunities for hands-on learning, meaningful collaboration, and the chance to build strong relationships with teachers and peers. This environment allows us to more effectively support students as they strive to meet teacher expectations and grow both academically and socially.
We are also celebrating the progress our students are making in academics. Teachers are working hard to provide engaging instruction, and students are showing determination and effort as they meet grade-level goals. Each success, whether big or small, is a step toward preparing our students for future opportunities, and we are proud of the progress being made so far this year.
Thank you for your continued support at home—whether it’s reinforcing expectations, checking in on homework, or encouraging your child to do their best each day, your partnership makes all the difference. Together, we are creating a safe, positive, and productive environment where students can thrive.
We are grateful for the chance to celebrate this season with you and your children.
⭐ Program Spotlight ⭐
The Farmington R-7 School District is proud to offer the Missouri Option Program, an alternative pathway for students who are at least 17 years of age and are at risk of not graduating with their class. This program provides eligible students the opportunity to earn a standard high school diploma while focusing on competency-based learning rather than traditional credit accumulation.
At the heart of the Missouri Option Program is the HiSET® exam, the state-approved high school equivalency assessment. Successful completion of the HiSET®, along with fulfillment of all program requirements, allows students to graduate with a diploma from Farmington R-7 Schools.
The program is designed to support students throughout the school year. Participants attend a minimum of 15 hours of in-class instruction each week at the Missouri Option Center. In addition, students complete independent study and coursework outside of the classroom to meet program expectations.
The Missouri Option Program empowers students with an alternative route to graduation, ensuring they leave high school prepared for their future goals in higher education, the workforce, or military service.
