The Weekly Highlander 2025-2026
Volume #35
A Message from the Principal
Dear Highlander Families:
On Monday, many Hewes staff members attended the TUSD School Board meeting, where we were recognized as a California Distinguished School. It has taken the dedication of an amazing staff, incredible students, and supportive families to make this happen. Please join us as we CELEBRATE!
On Monday, we will be holding our last School Site Council Meeting of the year at 3 pm in room I-8. The meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. The agenda for this meeting is in this newsletter. Our general PTA meeting is on Tuesday at 9 am in room I-8 or on Zoom. Information about this meeting, including the Zoom link, can also be found in this newsletter.
The last week of April is CAASPP testing. We are hoping our families can help stock the lounge with individually packaged snacks or drinks. Ideas for what would be enjoyed are outlined in this newsletter. All donations can be dropped off at the front office.
Please stay connected to Hewes by checking our website and following us on Instagram @heweshighlanders for the latest information and news.

Highlander for a Day is a recognition program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments of Winning the Day the Highlander Way. Students are recognized for working hard, including others, never giving up, controlling their responses, choosing to act above the line, and taking extreme ownership of their 20 square feet. These are the habits and mindsets that shape our Highlander culture, and we are so proud to share them with our entire school community.
