We will have a full lock down drill on Monday 11/2. The drill includes barricading classroom doors and remaining silent in a safe location in the room. While we hope to never be in a situation where this is necessary, practicing these procedures helps students and staff understand how to respond calmly and appropriately in an emergency.

Every donation makes a difference. Gifts of any size are welcome, and when more families participate, our school benefits even more. Last year, the the Giving Campaign gave more than $115,000 to Millennium High School to support classroom teachers, academic counseling, and community building. Even a small contribution can add up to significant support for our students. Our goal is to have 100% participation! Please consider making a donation today and helping us continue to bring valuable resources and opportunities to our students.

A Message from Mrs. Carlson A Message from Mrs. Carlson

Daylight Savings- We get an extra hour back!! While many of us enjoyed the extra hour of sleep, I was thinking about time and finding small moments to take care of myself. Maybe you have been working on your college applications and you need 5 minutes to take in some fresh air outside. Maybe you just need 5 minutes to close your eyes with no phone or distraction and be in a quiet space. Maybe this is the chance to find or get back to a hobby you enjoy. Or maybe its time to reflect on the hard work you have been putting in and tell yourself you are doing your best!

Study Tips:

I came upon a list of great study tips that I wanted to pass along.

Students...Try one study tip for a few weeks. If you are not satisfied with where you are with your classes, time to try something new.

  1. Active Recall- Quiz yourself without your notes, do practice problems, explain the material to a family member.
  2. Mind Mapping- Write a main concept in the middle of a paper. Then draw branches related to the topic. Use colors, symbols, images to make connections. Add supporting facts or definitions and then link related concepts across branches for better understanding.
  3. SQ3R study method- Active reading- Skim your material for an overview and look for headings and key points. Turn headings into questions and then read with your questions in mind. Summarize what you have learned in your own words.
  4. Spaced repetition- Space out time to review material over several scheduled days- day 1, day 3, day 7. Recall what you learned before each time you review. Combine old material with new material as you review.

Virtual UC Night 2026—Wednesday 11/4 4:00-5:15 PM

Students will have the opportunity to learn about the University of California (UC) system, gain a better understanding of the UC application process, and hear from representatives at participating UC campuses.

College & Career Center Newsletter

College visits are happening! Students need to get permission from their teacher at least 24 hours in advance of the visit in order to attend. For questions, contact Ms. Stefanie Manalo-LeClair, our College and Career Center Director. See upcoming visits below.

We are wrapping up the college rep visits by November 12th. If you have a 9th or 10th grade student who has not yet attended a visit, it might be worth their time to to attend one before the fall visits are over.

In addition, we have an evening event coming to campus: Community College Night 11/3 from 6-7:30pm in the library. Please pre-register so we know how many to expect. Both events are open to all grade levels/students/parents/guardians to learn more and plan ahead.

Lastly, Ms. ML is available to read senior's essays or answer any questions they may have. There is a link on the College and Career website for 30 minute meetings.

If your student is planning to take an AP exam this spring, please follow the two-step ordering process below. The early deadline for ordering exams is Friday, November 6th. Exams cost $130 which covers instructional materials, testing materials, proctors, and other costs. Orders placed between November 7th and March 1st, 2027 cost $170, which includes a $40 CollegeBoard imposed late fee. The final day to order is March 1, 2027.

STEP 1 - Your student should log-in to their College Board account and indicate which exams should be ordered. Instructions on how to do this can be found here. Control for Parents on School-Issued Chromebooks Control for Parents on School-Issued Chromebooks

User uploaded image

All student Chromebooks include a web filter that works both at school and at home. It blocks inappropriate content and many non-educational websites, helping keep the Chromebook a safe, school-focused device. While no internet filter is perfect, it provides an important layer of protection whenever students use their school-issued Chromebook.

Want a little more control at home? The GoGuardian Parent App allows parents and guardians to view Chromebook browsing history, pause internet access after school hours, and block specific websites. These features apply only to the school-issued Chromebook.

Get Started

  • Download the GoGuardian Parent App:
    • Download via Apple Store
    • Download via Google Play Store
  • Open the app and enter the email address you use with the school.
  • Check your email for the verification link and tap “Verify your email.”
  • If using another device for email, select “Login with verification code” and paste the code from your email.

Please rest assured that every student will always receive a full, nourishing meal.
