PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, January 30th
Despite the chill in the air, our 3rd Graders warmed our hearts on Thursday night with their supercalifragilistic Disney musical performance! Together we celebrated 100 years of Disney while being treated to some wonderful renditions of classic Disney songs and some amazing drumming that had us all tapping our toes! Thank you to the 3rd Grade teaching team and to Mr Whitaker for supporting our students and making this such an entertaining show and to Mrs Fasolo for taking such lovely pictures!
Thank you to everyone who has donated items for the Student Council Food Drive this week! We will continue to collect items for one more week so please feel free to send in items if you wish.
I hope those of you attending the PTA Sponsored Trivia Night tomorrow have a great time!
Thanks!
Ellie Chin
SCHOOL CALENDAR SYNCING (NEW POST!)
Due to our recent website platform change, the process for syncing school and district calendars with your personal calendar is now different. The previous calendar sync from our former website will no longer show the most up-to-date information.
To continue receiving accurate event updates, please disconnect or delete the old calendar link and add the new one…it takes just a minute! A short how-to video is linked below to walk you through the steps.
STUDENT COUNCIL FOOD DRIVE (FINAL POST!)
This is the LAST week to drop off items for the Student Council food drive in support of the Wheeling Township Food Pantry!
Please consider donating non-perishable food items to help support families in our community. Your donations make a big difference!
Please consider donating any of the following items:
Canned vegetables
Canned fruit
Canned soup or stew
Pasta & pasta sauce
Rice
Peanut butter
Jelly
Cereal
Canned beans
Canned fish or chicken
Especially Needed Items:
Microwavable meals
Ready-to-eat snacks

Please do not send in any items in glass jars/containers.
Thank you for your generosity and support in helping our community!
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP (NEW POST!)
Next week (the week of February 2nd - February 6th) will be Digital Citizenship Week in District 25. Each day we will focus on a specific digital citizenship topic to guide students to be safe, ready, and mindful online. Each day will have a dress-up theme that reminds everyone of the focus of the day. Help your child get dressed up and excited to learn about the best ways to be kind, safe, and responsible online!
Take a moment to review this year's themes. Here are some links to activities and videos that can help guide your conversation with your children:

VALENTINE'S PARTIES (NEW POST!)
Our Valentine's Parties will take place on Friday, February 13th in the afternoon. Your room parents and teachers should have reached out with more information.
This is always a fun afternoon and we enjoy all the games and activities planned by our creative room moms. If students are planning on handing out Valentines, please remember that we have a strict NO FOOD policy for the safety and wellness of all our Panthers. Please refrain from sending in Valentine cards with any candy, gum, etc. attached to them.
MULTICULTURAL NIGHT (NEW POST!)
Our wonderful Multicultural Night is returning this year on Wednesday, March 18th. Every year this event gets bigger and better and we are so excited to explore all the different cultures that make up Patton again this year! Last year we had many delicious dishes, fabulous performances and lots of informative presentations. If you would like to showcase your culture this year, please fill out THIS FORM.
Please mark your calendars for this event and be sure to come hungry and ready to try some new foods!
FEBRUARY PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGNUP (2nd POST!)
February conferences will take place on Monday, February 16th. These conferences will take place over one day and will be in 10-minute increments.
These conferences are always a great way for you to connect with your child(ren)'s teacher, spend some time in the classroom and hear about your child's school life! We appreciate the ongoing partnership and collaboration that is shared in the Patton community. Please note that there is only one conference time slot for each student.
Thank you to those of you who have already signed up for a slot! The signup link was emailed out to families on Sunday, January 18th but we realize there was quite an important football game on that evening so, for those of you who may have missed it, you can find the signup link HERE.
The signup will close at 12:00 pm on Monday, February 9th.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child's homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her directly.
OUTDOOR RECESS INFORMATION (2nd Post!)
This is just a gentle reminder that students go outside for recess EVERY day unless it is raining or the wind chill is below 0°F. Please ensure that students arrive to school dressed appropriately for the cold weather, and please send them with their snow gear every day.
We try to minimize classroom interruptions as much as possible and there has recently been an increase in the amount of snow gear being dropped off after the start of the school day. This requires us to call in and interrupt classroom instruction.
Please help us limit classroom interruptions by taking a moment on a morning to make sure everyone has everything they need for a warm and comfortable recess.
Thank you so much for partnering with us on this front!
