Empowering Inclusive Practices:
Comprehensive Series on Accessibility, AT and Communication
AT, AAC, AEM, IEP . . . Say what?!
Calling all EDUCATORS! Accessibility. Accessible Format. Assistive Technology. Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Are you confused? You are not alone! Inclusive communities (aka - ALL classrooms) require that ALL educators (not just special educators) use careful, thoughtful, iterative design, reflection, and effort when designing instructional learning experiences. Available does not equal Accessible. Accessible does not equal Inclusive. Would you like to learn more?
SST 16 is offering a series of six (6) one-hour virtual sessions with a focus on these topics. We will learn and understand terminology, review federal and state requirements, apply concepts to instructional design, and learn accessibility tips and tools for Google and other digital options.
Virtual one-hour sessions will be offered at 7:30 am and 3:00 pm on Wednesdays beginning March 6th through April 17, 2024 for six weeks. Morning and afternoon sessions will be the same session, you choose the time best for you! Please note that we are skipping March 27th.
This series is being offered for 6 contact hours. You must attend all 6 sessions if you would like a certificate of participation. If you need help registering, please contact Kayla Simons by phone 740-794-0150 or email kayla.simons@sst16.org.
