TIDE Maintenance

As noted in the reporting timeline below, authorized staff who are TIDE users will have access to student results in CRS as noted below. Campus coordinators should update TIDE rosters by May 16.

  • TE user role allows access to rostered students
  • CRV user role allows access to campus reports and must be used sparingly
  • PR user role is restricted to the campus principal, associate principals, assistant principals & admin interns.
  • Interventionists, and others who work with groups of students must be assigned the TE role and attached to students they serve on a TIDE roster.
  • Most other user roles do not provide access to student level results in CRS.
  • OTA user role has been removed from all users because it is only used for proctoring test sessions and does not provide any additional access.

Current users will have access through June 30. In July, I will begin resetting TIDE user accounts for 2025-2026. Except for the PR user role, all user accounts will be deleted. I'm happy to provide temporary access for campus staff who need access for specific PD or organized curriculum planning they may be participating in. They can reach out to me in July to request temporary access.

Except for those assigned to work June STAAR EOC, the CTC user role will be removed and you will be assigned the PR user role over the next few weeks. In August, some "refresh/what's new" training in TIDE's LMS will be required to regain access to your CTC user role. Details will be shared when available.

Manuals, etc...

All 2024-2025 manuals for state assessments (TELPAS, STAAR) must be thrown out/recycled. Do not keep these on campus. The only exception is at WHS where we will use these for June EOC and then toss them.

If you still have any materials used by students during testing, those must be destroyed. This includes scratch paper, reference materials, supplemental aids, etc... . Please make sure these are shredded.

Documentation that has been scanned/saved does not need to be kept on campus, but you may choose to do so.

Spring State Assessment Reporting Timeline Spring State Assessment Reporting Timeline

Campus principals should have a plan in place to ensure results for state assessments are shared in a confidential way with families as well as with staff. Assessment results are only available to those with an educational need. See this one-pager for all dates below.

TIDE users who are rostered to students will have access to student results as noted below. Campus coordinators should update TIDE rosters by May 16.

IMPORTANT: Upon release of Early Results, campus coordinators must immediately identify any incomplete results. When Preliminary Results are received, campus coordinators will use their findings from Early Results to immediately identify any missing or questionable results and report to Kelly. (For example, every student listed as present on a seating chart should be listed with results in CRS.) A precise timeline of when reports of missing or questionable results must be reported to Kelly is included below in order to request corrections that will be included in accountability. These dates are marked with 🚩 below. (If your work calendar concludes during the reporting windows, ensure that your principal is prepared to review the data and report any issues.)

🚨Campus administrators have a legal responsibility under FERPA to protect the confidentiality of student education records. You may provide education records, including assessment results, only to those with a legitimate need to use the data in the completion of their responsibilities as an educator.

Helping Families Access State Assessment Results

Over the next few weeks, you'll see an informational campaign to help parents be prepared to receive state assessment results. The district communication does not take the place of campus communication. Please have a communication plan ready to launch before the last day of classes.

You will find some resources at this link (including EN/SP/V). Parents should plan to access results through Skyward's Family Access. The student's unique access code is not needed to access via Skyward. We have already uploaded unique access codes to Skyward for all students who participated in TELPAS and STAAR administrations and this will allow single sign on access via Skyward.

However, it is important that families keep the unique access code for future reference. If they leave PfISD, they will not have access through Skyward, and must use the unique access code to manually log in to the state's portal. Cambium provides some tools for you in TIDE. Open the "After Testing" Section for more information. I always recommend that families keep the unique access code with their important family documents.

📜Additionally, families may request a paper copy of the STAAR (TELPAS, etc...) Report Card (SRC). These will be saved in your campus folder in StateAssessments on the dates noted above. You may need to make a copy to save elsewhere for others to access when you are off calendar (enjoying a pretty drink on a chic beach🌴). Alternatively, you can let parents know when you will be available to provide these on request. Keep in mind that these must be kept confidential, and only authorized persons may receive these. You'll need to verify that the person making the request is authorized to access confidential student records.

Release of TELPAS Items and Student Responses - New for 2025 Release of TELPAS Items and Student Responses - New for 2025

When Spring 2025 results are published in TEA's Family Portal according to the schedule noted above, test items and student responses, including recorded responses to speaking items, will be accessible to authorized parents/guardians. Access to recorded responses to speaking items will also be available to authorized educators with a CRS user accounts.

Significant consideration must be given to student privacy for recorded responses, and educators must be mindful of maintaining confidentiality.

Recorded responses for speaking items will be shared for Spring 2025 TELPAS and future administrations when TEA is authorized to release TELPAS items.

Instructions for accessing student responses are available at this link. For additional support using CRS, refer to the “Centralized Reporting System (CRS)” training available in Cambium’s LMS.

2025-2026 State Assessment Calendar - Input Requested 2025-2026 State Assessment Calendar - Input Requested

Draft 1 or Draft 2?

Campus and district leaders are asked to review Draft 1 & Draft 2 for Spring 2026 STAAR schedules and identify the preferred schedule. Both drafts are based on feedback received after 2025 administrations. Scheduling priorities include minimizing disruptions to instruction, including impact to the A/B high school schedules, and ensuring consistent scheduling across the district with consideration to device ratios. Feel free to collaborate with others and respond by June 5.

  • Draft 1

  • Draft 2

We usually share a final calendar in July/August.

Education Advanced - Making the Most of Spring Testing Data

Spring testing season may be coming to an end, but the real work is just beginning. Join us for a practical and timely conversation about how to turn state assessment results into clear, actionable next steps — not just for testing teams, but across your entire campus or district. We’ll explore how to organize and interpret testing data to: Identify retesters and graduation risks early; Use reports and trends to support students, close gaps, and plan ahead; Communicate insights to other departments so everyone’s on the same page; Plan ahead for compliance, staffing, and support in the next cycle. Whether you're reviewing outcomes or preparing for what’s next, this session will help you move from testing to targeted support — and ensure no student slips through the cracks.
