First Day of School

*Half Day for All Students (K-8 dismissed 10:50 and Preschool at 11:30am)

We are excited to kick off the school year with our Annual Opening Picnic on Wednesday, September 1st. This year we are asking each family to sign up for a time slot to visit your student's classroom and drop off your school supplies. After you have dropped off your supplies, join our HSA in the side yard for a light refreshment.

To keep congestion down in the hallways during the picnic, please choose a time from the list in the Sign Up Genius linked below to meet your child's teacher and drop off supplies.

In the interest of student comfort, we have made a permanent change allowing sneakers to be worn with all uniforms.

**Breakfast and Lunch are free for all DeSales Students until June 2022.**

The DeSales Food Service Department, under the direction of Aramark works hard to offer students a delicious and nutritious meal in a clean and inviting atmosphere. Our staff strives to provide a good value while complying with a host of nutritional guidelines and NYS and USDA regulations.

All DeSales volunteers must participate in the Virtus Protecting God’s Children program prior to volunteering. We will be hosting a Virtus training at DeSales on October 7th. To sign up for this training, or any of the others that are in our area, go to: https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/reg_list2.cfm?theOrgID=16003&theme=0.

Your family should have a received a Student Contact Verification/Emergency Contact Form in the mail in early August. Please review and return your form to the DeSales Main Office prior to the start of school. Forms may also be emailed to Mrs. Regina Granchelli at granchellir@desalescatholicschool.org.

Singers in grades 6, 7 or 8th are invited to join the Cantors for Christ Choir Group at DeSales. If your student is interested, please have them see Music Teacher, Mrs. Jackie Davis.

Uniform Exchange- The Uniform Exchange is open all summer from 9am -12:00pm. Check in at the DeSales Main Office to borrow the key. The uniform exchange is stocked with gently used pants, shorts, polos, button downs. skirts, jumpers and gym clothes. It is free to take what you need.

DeSales students in grades 5-8 will be responsible for completing the required summer reading. Students should read independently from the Middle School Summer Reading List or share them as read-aloud with family, friends. Happy Reading!!

DeSales offers before school care for those families that need to drop their children off before 8 a.m. Our before school care program is offered on all regular school days from 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. The cost is $150 per month, per student, which will be added to your monthly automatic tuition withdrawal during the months of September – June.

If interested in this program, please complete and sign this form and return it to the main office before August 15, 2021.

Swim Team Registration is now open!

Boys & Girls - K- 8th grade

We are asking anyone interested in joining the DeSales Swim Team to please email Cally or Carmine by Sunday (8/29/2021). The league has asked us to let them know how many participants we anticipate. Registration forms with payment are DUE by Tuesday, September 7th.

The Swim Team will also have a table at Opening Picnic for anyone who has questions.

Swim Team practices will be Monday and Wednesday evenings (times to be announced) at the Lockport High School.
